both agreed so Vick needs to play &

blah blah blah!!! People and their radicalism comments. Get real. We Buc fas had a staff of College coaches. We all complained, but it did not turn out to be so bad. If we had a couple of CB and our Qb could be more consistent. We would’ve made the play offs. We all expected worse, but we had the best offence ever in Buc history. Philly fans STOP crying so much for once. Your team needed an offensive line and a better Qb.

circles would be an improvement. It’s the bouncing off his O-lineman that makes vick so useless.

Sanchez doing it once and coughing up a fumble (6?) gets a lot of coverage; I guess Vick doing it 1/2 dozen times a game got old and so doesn’t get quite the attention.

Over the last 1/2 dozen gut wrenching games this season, I continued watching Eagles games thinking… it can’t get worse.

But it did get worse. With each debacle, the Eagles established new levels of ugly. Olè blocking, alligator arm receivers and gift wrapped turnovers on offense; ‘defensively’ wide open opponents’ receivers and arm waving (non)tackles. (Andy must have updated his notebook before the Chiefs interview to at least black out that part about wind resistance bringing down ball carriers).
The stomach churns continued.

When the season ended (can’t say mercifully) and Andy’s inevitable departure came down, that gut-churn finally went away.

But the thought of Kelly coming here and keeping Vick around just got me feeling nauseous again.

$15.5M/yr or $11/hr doesn’t matter – Lurie can p— his money away however he chooses. But if the Eagles keep Vick around for 2013 birds’ fans can only hope they’ve identified their QB of the future as the #1 pick in the 2014 draft.

@bluereign I agree, but IF the Eagles want him to be an Eagle in 2013 then they should pay him the agreed amount in the contract OR not cry and drag their feet when a player has an outstanding season and asks to renegotiate his contract.

Mike Vick fancies himself a starter, but I can’t think of more than 2-3 teams for whom he could walk in and take the position. Jags? Jets? Buffalo? Cleveland? Even if all those teams shun drafting a new QB, AND one of them decides to take on the Mike Vick Experience (no wheels edition), there’s still no way they’ll pay him $15 mil.

Just because a ton of other busts are drastically overpaid, doesn’t mean you should hang on to your own bust. I’d much rather cut ties with that 15 million dollar anchor and use the money elsewhere.

Given that Phillip Rivers, Jay Cutler, and Matt Schaub make over 14 million dollars, 15.5 million for Michael Vick looks like a good deal.
Considering the money that Matt Cassel, Mark Sanchez and Ryan Fitzpatrick make, Vick is probably at the right number.
For the record, in my opinion, only the 5 elite quarterbacks (Brees, Brady, Rodgers and Manning in no particular order) should be making 15 million dollars or more. Big Ben should be at 13 million and everyone else should be making 10 million dollars or much less.
We would have a great fan debate if they would post all 32 quarterbacks and their salaries so we can debate who is underpaid and overpaid.
We would probably agree that 16 of the 32 quarterbacks in the NFL are highly overpaid.

No no no no no. I’m sorry, but no. 2 years not so long to realize things aren’t working out and cut the cord. 3 years too much.

The guy was so good for that stretch in 2010 that ANY coach would have been forced to hitch the wagon. And excited to do so. But that’s over. His decision making has regressed and it’s not good enough/ Too many weapons opn that team watching the other team get the ball because we don’t have a point guard qb who can just deliver it.

He is not worth $15.5M. If Vick does not renegotiate, they will cut him, and then he will find out that no one else thinks he is worth $15.5M. No matter how you cut it, he will make less next year.

The issue is more “does Vick intrigue Kelly” than “does Kelly intrigue Vick”. Unless the Eagles sign Kelly AND Kelly really, really wants Vick, Michael’s time in Philly is over.

So for you people who want Kelly your asking for the following… 1) A coach with zero NFL experience. 2) A coach with no ties to any current NFL coordinators. 3) Might mean the Eagles keep the most injury prone turnover machine in the NFL and would probably have him carrying the ball MORE often 4) Will cost the eagles at least an additional 15 million dollars?
