It’s been a while since the Redskins have been in the playoffs, but they started their game with the Seahawks like it was old hat.
The Redskins have driven easily on the Seahawks on each of their first two possessions and lead 14-0 as a result. Everything’s clicked for Washington offensively as the Seahawks haven’t handled the deceptiveness of the Redskins attack well at all. Alfred Morris has 49 yards on eight carries, Pierre Garçon caught a 30-yarder on a well-executed play action pass and Robert Griffin III has thrown a pair of touchdown passes.
Just before his second touchdown pass, which went to tight end Logan Paulsen, Griffin came up limping after an incompletion on the scramble. He’s wearing a bulky brace on the right knee he hurt near the end of the regular season and walked gingerly off the field following the score. He then went to the locker room with team personnel and there’s been no update to his status yet. That’s obviously a concern for the Redskins, although their two-touchdown lead makes it a bit less terrifying than if they’d fallen behind early.
About the only other thing that’s gone wrong for the Redskins is that left guard Kory Lichtensteiger aggravated the ankle injury that kept him out of practice all week. He’s questionable to return and Josh LeRibeus has replaced him.
