This Steelers fan is glad to see Cleveland doing some things right–not playing Chip Kelly’s game and not falling for Gruden’s effort to inject himself into the discussion.

Now keep up the good work by not hiring Nick Saban or Brian Kelly. Hire a good young OC as your head coach and let’s get back to Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh for the division title every year!

Right, he took an under-performing team to become an 8-8 team, then went to the playoffs for 2 years, then left (and a ROOKIE head coach who nobody heard of BEFORE or AFTER) took Gruden’s Raiders to the Super Bowl using Gruden’s talent and schemes. Then the team became the worst performing team in the entire NFL after he left.

So tell me again about how Gruden sucks?

or he’s just ‘done’, maybe afraid of failure/that by him returning it will prove he was an overrated coach who inherited a great team and took it to the Superbowl where he easily could handle his former team’s offense.

I think the job Gruden wants is Dallas, if he ever returns to coaching. Been rumors about that for years. He is not going to leave the best job in NFL broadcasting to go to any old NFL opening. He’s making a mint and seems to be having fun, plus his family has been living in a place they’ve grown to love, Tampa, for over 10 years now. May not be this year, or next, but don’t be surprised if his next gig is “America’s Team”.

Per the source, the Browns also have no interest in making a “splash” with their hire. The goal was and is laying the foundation for a consistently successful and competitive football operation.

@fromalicious… Dude, I wasn’t even attacking the Raiders, I was just being honest. Are you going to argue that the Raiders have had ANY good seasons since 2003?

Acknowledge the fact that your team is trash, it’s not a knock, it’s the truth.

My Chargers were good for a few years, but not great. Now they suck. But you guys are worse.

And besides, the Raiders have gotten just as many Super Bowl rings as my Chargers have since I was born in the mid-80′s… ZERO!

I wasn’t alive to see the Raiders as a good team. Hell, I barely remember either of our teams going to their losing Super Bowl matches in the last 20 years.

Just like you probably don’t remember the Chargers owning the Raiders in the AFL for a decade.

Get over it. Your team is bottom-5 in the league. You are the Bills/Browns/Chiefs/Jaguars and have been for a decade.
