The Pats and Belichick owned this guy for years…he lost two AFC championship games in Pittsburg after a lot of his players already bought Superbowl tickets before the game was even played….lol!!..His annoying chin and drooling foul mouth are really all this guy is about….Steelers always had a stacked roster and Bill just kept coming up short…I’ve seen him out coached in many big games….no thanks…u can have him…
-----------------------------------------------
You're a moron. Look at the qb's in the big games people talk about that he lost. Jim Kelly vs O'donnell. Elways and Brady over Kordell Stewart in two of them.

The fact is he had his teams near the top of the league almost every year, and never, ever had a franchise QB. It's easier being Bellichick when you have Tom Brady. Wasn't quite as easy when he was starting Testaverde and Bledsoe.

15 years, no franchinse QB. Even when he finally got one that would turn out to be a franchise QB, he took them to the Super Bowl as a second year QB. He was still a game manager at that time.

As a lifelong Bears fan, I would be honored if he chose us to come coach for. Phil Emery should kiss the ground that he walks on if that day ever comes. I would hope that his first order of business would be to give Jay 'Throw my teammates under the bus' Cutler a one way ticket on the next thing smokin' out of town. The chances of Cowher coming to Chicago I realize are less than slim-to-none, but it doesn't mean one can't dream. Besides, he is the one man that if given the proper opportunity could make the city of Chicago forget about Mike Ditka. No other man coaches with so much heart, devotion and love for the game than Bill Cowher...yet he still finds a way to command respect and leadership from his squad. Amazing!

He went to school in NC as did his wife and they have lived there. Their girls grew up there.

Since the Panthers are surprisingly holding on to Rivera "for one more year" maybe Cowher uses this year to research and organize a coaching staff and steps in next year.

When he left the Steelers, IIRC, there was talk of him considering going to Carolina.

Too bad nobody cares anymore Bill. And nobody should, maybe everyone just realized you have only 1 Lombardi in 20 years of coaching. You weren’t a head coach that long because you’re a legend, you were a head coach for that long because you worked for the Rooneys – who are notoriously patient.

Anywhere else and he would have been canned in 5 years – I mean Tomlin won a ring his 1st year with the same squad.

Ya I’m not drinking the Cowher koolaid

Cowher coached 15 years for the Steelers and brought them to the playoffs 10 times, participated in 5 AFC championship games, 2 Super Bowls and one the big one in 2005. He's not the greatest coach ever, obviously, but with his stats you have to rank him up there in the top 20-25 range. How many current coaches can boast that?

!!!!OVERRATED!!!!

Took him 15 years to get one team to the super bowl and only won it because of it being the most fixed game in the history of the NFL.

Wouldn't want him coaching my team.

One of the worst big game coaches I've ever seen. Lost two AFC Championship games at home to the Pats, when he probably had better teams. Not only that, they got smoked. He just didn't get it. I know steeler fans love that he spits. Nice. Got lucky in the SB he won. Stop pineing away for the past steeler fans. It's the system, not the coach. They haven't had a decent coach since Noll. The longer a coach is out of the game, the more it passes him by. If someone pays Sgt. Slaughter the big dough, they'll regret it, in my opinion

Too bad nobody cares anymore Bill. And nobody should, maybe everyone just realized you have only 1 Lombardi in 20 years of coaching. You weren't a head coach that long because you're a legend, you were a head coach for that long because you worked for the Rooneys - who are notoriously patient.

Anywhere else and he would have been canned in 5 years - I mean Tomlin won a ring his 1st year with the same squad.

Ya I'm not drinking the Cowher koolaid
