Sure, steelerben. There is no way Khan will allow the new GM to replace Mike Mularkey. Maybe he told you personally that Khan has made keeping Mularkey a condition of employment for potential GMs, but he certainly hasn’t said so publicly like the Jets have about Ryan.

And I am not sure what you are talking about with “money, money, money”. Not only does Khan have the ability to pay a GM every bit as much as Woody Johnson does, the Jags also a much more favorable cap situation than the Jets.

In all seriousness, comparing the two jobs is absurd.

The Jets are relevant. The Jaguars are not. Period. Circus or not, the Jets matter. Meanwhile, the Jaguars draw no fans, generate zero national interest, get no TV ratings, play in a postage-stamp market, and are not even guaranteed to stay in Jacksonville. They’re irrelevant.

As I said before, it wouldn’t surprise me if Gamble were just using the Jets to increase his interest and salary from other suitors.

This latest report suggests that Caldwell and Gamble both are doing the same thing.

Apparently there’s no pressure for the Jets to get someone quick. They obviously don’t need a “real” GM since that GM wouldn’t be allowed to pick a Head Coach, or Quarterback, or now a QB Coach or OC.

The inmates are running the asylum in NY – figuratively and literally.

In these days of twitter reporting, you can’t believe anything anyone says anymore until the actual teams make the announcement. I know every reporter wants the scoop but passing off speculation as news is slowly eroding away any integrity the media had. Which probably wasn’t much anyway.
