APWell, that didn’t take long.
Less than an hour after FOX’s Jay Glazer reported that the only thing standing in the way of the Jaguars hiring Dave Caldwell to be their next G.M. was working out a deal, the two sides have worked out a deal.
Caldwell’s agent, Brian Ayrault, announced on Twitter than Caldwell and the Jaguars and owner Shahid Khan have reached an agreement in principle.
We’re told that a deal was in place before Caldwell told the Jets that he would be removing his name from consideration for the G.M. vacancy in New York.
Caldwell had interviewed with the Jaguars three times before scheduling a second interview with the Jets. The move prompted scuttlebutt in league circles that the Jags and Caldwell had reached a financial impasse.
If so, the impasse has now become whatever the opposite of an impasse is.

We look down upon this franchise with disgust.
I am confident that Caldwell will build an excellent team from around the league to assist him. It will be interesting to see reported who he hires beneath him in the upcoming days.
Caldwell’s first order of business….FIRE MULARKEY!
Jesus, what a stache!
KHANNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!
I’m a Mario
“First move; Get Tebow”….. KHAN
that stache should have its own Twitter
Dude has a porn stache……….is he related to Ron Jeremy?
that stache has its own zip code!!!!
Caldwell coming from Atlanta probably mean Mularkey is safe. Although Dimitroff/Smith were reportedly going to fire him after last season until the Jags hired him so maybe not.
He is the only guy I know who can shake your hand with the right side of his stache while scratching your back with the left side.
Rumour was that he didn’t want to hire Andy Reid due to stache envy.
He needs a monocle to really complete the look with that stache.
Looks like the jests got left at the alter…. again!
Lol, he does look like Ron Jeremy.
JAX over NYJ. That’s funny.
I bet Kahn bought the ‘stache from Tom Selleck or Sam Elliot. Or both. Billionaires can do that kind of thing.
KAHN is the man. I am a longtime season ticket holder and was at the first game when I was 12. I am glad we have Kahn and his mustached aspirations to make our team a world known champion. He is a man who understands business and now we have someone who knows how to run the football part. I can’t wait. We were 2-14 this year and I still had a great time at every game. Next year will be full of actual rebuilding, not a downward slide that was referred to as “rebuilding”
Hire Tebow.
What does the lawyer from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas know about football?
I think it’s great that Ian McShane kept his Deadwood ‘stache and bought an NFL team.

=================
Doubt it.
The fact that they managed to hire a GM who has a good reputation and seems to be a strong candidate to succeed proves that Khan didn’t make acquiring Tebow a requirement of employment.
Because if Khan had told this guy he had to go out and get Tebow if he wanted the job, this headline would have read, “Caldwell, Jets agree in principle.”
If Caldwell brings Chrisissy Polian, (for Atlanta’s sake) have only one word advice for ALL of the staff….DOCUMENT.
My new favorite person in sports….looks like a character in a mob movie.
What’s the opposite of original stache jokes?
Snidely Whiplash hired the right man. What’s that say for the Jets?? When JAX is more attractive you’ve got issues.
It’s time… Time to shine in JAX…! Things are looking brighter here in NE FL even with a foggy morning….!
Jacksonville will remain a Tebow Free Zone!!!
What we have learned…Drafting a punter in the top of the 3rd round will get you fired. Duly noted..
