Woody Johnson will not hire Jerry Angelo. Jerry Angelo was stupid enough to take that defensive player the Jets got rid of three years ago. The defensive player’s number was 50.

wow if jet fans thought the offense was awful before wait until angelo starts drafting for you. get ready for picks from schools you have never heard of before or will again. this guy has no clue when judging talent but offense in particular. whoever you have as your qb is doomed since he thinks anybody can play on the offensive line.

Angelo in a nutshell:

Awful awful awful first round selections, I’m not kidding here guys. In his 11 years he found 1 guy that turned into a playmaker, and he ended up trading him away just as he was getting really good.

Actually a good track record in rounds 2 and 3 (Briggs, Tillman, Forte, etc.), as well as late round guys who can make a respectable contribution for a couple of years, still not enough for a championship team.

Very little free agency action for the most part. He used FA to find backups and special teamers, mostly has beens or guys who should have already retired. Signing Julius Peppers was 100% Lovie Smith. Jay Cutler was an alternative to a draft pick, and were talking about the guy who took Rex Grossman in the first round. Bears dodged a bullet with that trade.

In short, exactly the kind of crap the Jets are used to dealing with.

For all of you know it all’s, Angelo drafted 9 Pro Bowl players in Chicago from the 2002 through the 2009 drafts. One of the better records in the league. Oh, I forgot, they also went to a Super Bowl

Most candidates for any job expect a thoughtful and professional interview process, not one where the prospective employer drags out the procecss and very publicly names candidates. If I am Gamble, or any other worth candidate, I pass on the Jets.

That said, does track record mean anything to the Jets?

There has got to be a better candidate….as a bears fan…just like Lovie couldn’t get the offensive side of the ball correctly from a coaching point of view…Jerry couldn’t draft offensive players especially oline guys… Now he drafted Forte and traded for Cutler..but outside of that we got hot garbage…especially in the first 3 rounds..bust city year in year out…but the New York media will get some classic “sprinkles with a twist” type quotes as Jerry has his own language..

Jets fans, just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse for you, it does! If you think Rex Ryan is a thorn in your side (which he is), wait til you get a load of Jerry Angelo! We SUFFERED way too long with this guy at the helm. He is absolutely HORRIBLE at evaluating talent and in all the years as the Bears GM, he never once picked a 1st Round draft choice that panned out. I will say that I believe that he’s a very good person and handled himself with class while in Chicago, but we all know where nice guys finish! Good luck with this………

Jeez this is getting, there will no be upcoming General Managers that will want the Jets gig, too much nonsense from dealing with the owner and the coach and than not to mention the mess that is the Jets roster where numerous sub-par players have contracts that dont make sense.

In the end I see the Jets promoting their in house GM, saying he was the best for the job because no credible GM wants this job.
