Um, most of these guys are legitimately banged up. Spikes, Jones, Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, Dennard, Mankins and Talib are all key starters who have either missed time or been playing through noticeable pain.

Pats getting the bye week was huge for this reason.

The NFL comes down on teams who try to hide injuries, and the fans come down on teams who report them. There is no happy medium. Maybe the rules should be changed to report only the team members who are out for the game, and that’s all.

And yet if there was a player who was limited in practice and the patriots didn’t list him on the report this site would be tripping over itself to report the violation.

The pats are doing things very literally by the book and there’s nothing wrong with that at all especially in this league under this ruler.

Who’s to say it’s Belichick actually responsible for the injury report, could be like the college coach who lets his kid, dog, dartboard etc fill out his weekly poll vote. I applaud the Patriots organization giving the bird to the NFL in this situation…the league fusses over the injury report while the condition of the field for a playoff game is unimportant!

Teams get in trouble if they don’t identify injuries. It’s half dry humor, half F-U to the NFL (aka the man). I find it hard to understand why some people hate Belichick so much, the guy is awesome.

The injury report is for gambling purposes only. However, William can do whatever he wants- Kraft and his buddies Mara and Rooney run this league, not the commish.
Plus after the “tuck rule” and “spygate it’s clear the chowds can do whatever they want.

purpose of the injury report is to reduce/eliminate “secret” information that a knowlegeable few could exploit in gambling. The theory is that if everyone knows injury info then there is less scandle (members of team/staff selling the info or inside gambling) and less conspiracy. Don’t know how effective it is but that’s tge theory.

I’m not really sure what the big deal is. The Pats are a little banged up. I don’t know about some of the special teamers like Ebner and Cole but all of the starters aches and pains have been public knowledge for a while now. Where’s the manipulation?

Does anyone watch the games? If so, you’d have seen most of these – and seen the Pats shake them off the best they can and keep playing… Not sure what the slight of hand is here…

Belichick lists players that are limited in practice, just as the rules say he should. Imagine what the haters would say if he handled it the same way the Vikes handled Ponder. Then again, there’s no reason to hate the Vikes. They don’t win as much.

I’m not even a Pats fan, but I love seeing all the jealous haters on every post about them. It’s the same on the GB, PIT, and Giants stories. People always try and come up with excuses why the elite franchises aren’t better than their own team, even though they are. I’m hoping for a GB vs. NE SB, the comments from the loser franchises would be priceless.

I’ll preface my comments by saying I don’t have a dog in the fight. Personally I don’t think any team should have to list injuries. Watch film, prepare for the upcoming match-ups and play ball. If not for Fantasy Football, and much more importantly (as far as the NFL is considered) Las Vegas, injury reports would not exist. That would be a much easier way to maintain a level playing field.

That way shady coaches can’t play with the system.
