Would love to see Haley leave the Steelers — really boring play-calling which did not take advantage of Steelers’ offense strengths. Few deep balls to one of the fastest sets of receivers, PLODDING running plays — whatever happened to the Steelers’ bread and butter, the trap play with pulling guards? O-line was better this year than in past two, but still pathetic run production and percentage of run plays called. Steelers continued to baffle by not throwing the ball more to arguably their best overall player, Heath Miller. What is the love affair these OC’s have with the “West Coast” dink and dunk passing game? The objective is to score touchdowns, not chew clock. Get some slightly slower receivers with hands AND a younger 2nd QB for the inevitable Big Ben traumas to come (not “pitching from the stretch” Leftwich) and the Steelers’ offense will be PRODUCTIVE, not self-destructive.

I have a gut feeling he will jump to that job if they offer it to him..Why? He is probably getting tired of the “Big Talk” about him and ben not getting alone..People werent talking much about the way the Steelers were playing. It was Hows Ben and Hailys relationship? That Q was asked by almost every reporter to every player and coach on that Steelers team

Not a Chiefs fan, but…

Haley took a 2-14 team to 10-6 in two seasons.

QB Matt Cassell had the best season of his career (better than his breakout year in NE) under Haley:

3,000+ yards, 27 TDs, 7 INTs, 10-5 record.

Wiith virtually the same team, Chiefs won 2 games this season.

In my opinion Haley was just flat out wronged in KC. Pioli was tied to Cassel and Haley was vocal enough to show the fans and media that Pioli was in fact calling the shots. Pioli couldnt afford that so he canned him. Haley went to the playoffs with a very average QB in Cassel and was fired for having to play the same QB he was required to play. Just my opinion but Haley was a good head coach but that was hidden by his egotistical GM.

It would appease Fitz, and the owners that’s it. Plus you would probably loose Horton at end of his contract. Who’s to say his offensive background would fix Az offense. McCoy or Horton should be your only options

Todd Haley is a respected NFL coach, and despite the stupid comments here, he’s in demand.

Todd will decide if OC in Pittsburgh or HC in Arizona is in his immediate future.

Haley was not overly successful this year in Pittsburgh, but there are some pieces there, and the roster isn’t really geared toward his offensive style as it stands.

While being a head coach is certainly a tempting offer, and the Cardinals do have personnel that better fit Haley’s style , I don’t see why he wouldn’t stick around in Pittsburgh for at least a couple years and build an offense he can succeed with. That would not only make him more qualified for a head coaching job, but would give him more job security once he got there.

On a separate note, if I was a coordinator offered a head coaching job, especially if I had failed in that capacity once before, I would make sure it was on a team that had a capable quarterback in place, or at very least had a legitimate shot at landing a franchise quarterback during the offseason. Given the QB situation both in Arizona and the 2013 draft, taking a head coaching job there just seems like setting oneself up for failure.

People always talk about Belichick’s failure as the Browns HC, but I’ve never heard of anybody getting a third shot for a head coaching position.

Wouldn’t necessarily read too much into this. By interviewing, Haley is telling owners he’s on the market in the future if the right job comes along. When you don’t interview, owners and GMs tend to take your name out of the conversation.

On the other hand, if his family likes Arizona and he has a good relationship with the Bidwells, he may consider going back. He’ll certainly want to return to the top job at some point. But no team is going to succeed in this league without a quarterback, and I don’t see another Luck or Griffin coming out this year. I wouldn’t go near Arizona in these circumstances.

For Pittsburgh’s sake, I hope he stays with the Steelers.

Doesn’t matter if Haley leaves Pitt. Without an NFL caliber RB, without Mike Wallace next year, with Ben getting older and missing at least a handful of games every year to injury… They’re still doomed to finish in the bottom half of the division again in 2013. But at least you have A relatively young and talented D right? Oh wait…

Why would whiz come back to Pitt? He is a Cowher guy, who Cowher recommended as go successor and lost out to Tomlin. And why would Tomlin bring him in? He has been forced to keep cowhers staff and dumped Arians, so w could get a Tomlin guy in there. He will hire another Tomlin guy not another Cowher guy who was in line for his job before.

He basically signed his own resignation in pittsburgh just by going. Hopefully the steelers get Norv, never understood why anyone thought he would go to the Jets to work for Rex Ryan who publically called him a bad coach.
