Your right on the point that it should have been halted and if the punishment was for lying to the comish that is fine we deserve it in spades but:
1.) That was way to harsh for lying to the comish just look at Taggs retort Brett got a slap on the wrist for lying about the photos he sent
2.) the reps of several players were ruined specifically Jon Villma who has a rep as a cheep shot artist which couldn’t be further than the truth because he is about as clean on and off the field as they come
3.) the saints now have a rep as a dirty team when they are one of the least penalized teams re:personal fouls
4.) the team forfeited a season basically behind some blown out of proportion nonsense
5.) We paid our dues it’s now over Sean Payton is one of the best coaches in the NFL he fell on the sword and took the rap for his players and the orginazation unlike Greg Williams who sold the team and his players up the river so yeh he gets a reward and Greg Williams is where he deserves to be unemployed

This was all a lot of overblown junk started by a disgruntled exemployee its over time to move on

Let me specify for the English impaired. Give us examples of ON THE FIELD actions that showed that a bounty program existed. Show us SPECIFIC late hits, times where a Saints defender deliberately hit a player late or dove at his knees, deliberately looking to hurt him. Then watch me show you many more times where any number of teams put the exact same hits on their opponents.

The NFL claims they had a “bounty” program. The Saints ad a pay for performance program, which is very different. They didn’t have a bounty program, so they had nothing to stop.

So – there is no “conspiracy” not “coverup” on the Saints part. Instead we have a huge “cover-up” on the NFL’s part, and idiots who are too stupid to think for themselves and believe the NFL’s fairy tale that post their stupidity in comment sections like this one.

What league were you watching this year? With Brees (and without Payton), the Saints were 7-9, first losing season since ’07. And it wasn’t all the defense’s fault. Brees threw crucial INTs at bad times against the 49ers and Falcons, and couldn’t muster a first down from the middle of the third quarter on in a loss against the 2-14 Chiefs.
