ReutersThe Chargers officially introduced Tom Telesco as their new General Manager on Wednesday, and his first order of business will be simple, but perhaps not easy: Find the right coach.
“He is leading the process,” owner Dean Spanos regarding Telesco during a press conference. “We’ll all be there, but ultimately it will be his decision at the end of the day.”
The work nevertheless began before Telesco arrived. Spanos said the Chargers originally had 15-to-20 candidates, and that the list has since been pared down. Spanos confirmed that only one was interviewed — new Bills coach Doug Marrone.
“I had a list of candidates, which I’m not going to get into specifically, but I have a list and did some research,” Telesco added. “The interview committee had a list that they had researched and luckily our lists are almost the same, so we’re already ahead of the game there. But as soon as we’re done here, we’ll probably get right back to the meeting room and start looking at the head coaching list.”
The Chargers are believed to be interested in Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, and UCLA coach Jim Mora.

That pic looks like the guy off the State Farm commercial with a shave….. the “french model”… bon jour
Lovie Smith.
This general manager thing is easy.
Jim Mora? Seriously? Might as well hire Norv Turner back.
Inside track to Arians.

Greg Roman is gonna be the next chargers hc after having gone to college with Telesco or or the next Jaguars hc after having been roommates with new gm Caldwell. If Roman doesn’t get either job then somethings wrong with Roman
Zimmer and Arians are each quality choices; Mora…
Is this guy like 14 years old?
Second task at hand….. Do I get Chrisissy Polian or does David Caldwell???
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a less charismatic looking person in my life. Chargers fans should be worried he’ll bore this year’s draft class to death during contract negotiations.
Since Jim Mora’s overall record is that of a loser, he should be a shoo-in for Spanos.
Arch said it about AJ, but shoe fits equally well for Spanos. He too, is “the lord of no rings.”
