golonger says:Jan 10, 2013 2:15 PM

The Patriots went 11-5 the year without Brady because they had the easiest schedule in the NFL in over 3 decades. They also didn’t make the playoffs….

people say this all the time. but dude they went 18-1 the previous year so a 7 game drop off is definitely not as good as what brady did with that team. they could have went back to the super bowl had Brady not gone down.

Attention dwindling spygate crowd:

No matter how much you hold your breath and stomp your feet, the national media has moved on from this story. NFL Network and ESPN still play all of the Patriots Super Bowl highlights in all of their glory. I still see Brady holding his hands on his head and Vinatieri's kicks going through the uprights in sweet, beautiful slow motion.

After New England has continued their tremendous winning ways, and have been in 2 more Super Bowls since with a completely different team, the media has let it go because they realize the story obviously didn't mean much.

With all the complaints about the tuck rule, the ref in the booth called it, not the Patriots. Bad call, I admit it, but after the call, the Raiders had plenty of chances to stop them and they didn’t. It’s ancient history.

-----------
It wasn't a bad call. It was the right call by the rulebook. A technicality, yes, but still the right call.

After Ben Dreith stole what would have been the Patriots first Super Bowl title and gave it to the Raiders 25 years earlier, I feel no sympathy for how the Raiders lost that night. Justice prevailed.

Sweet, sweet karma.

No, what I know is the Ben Drieth call which I agree with, considering EVERY other call that has gone against the Raiders only gave the raiders a 1st down all new england had to was stop them and they didn’t.

Where as in the Ravens game a roughing the passer call would have gave the raiders a first because it was a 3rd down play just like the drieth call. you really have no clue

And the tuck rule game raiders recovered the fumble the run out the clock game over. so please stop and get your facts straight

--------------------------

Please. Incomplete pass like it was and it would have been 4th and almost 20. Instead thanks to Dreith's bogus call it was first down at the 1. I don't think I need to explain the difference. Put a big fat asterisk next to the Raiders title in 76. They didn't really beat the Pats. Ben Dreith did.

Funny you use the "all they had to do was stop them line..." after the Tuck Rule was correctly applied on the play the Raiders were still winning that game. So why didn't they stop them?

It's pretty clear when cowher was waving to the camera on one of the tapes the league did not care because no one cared until mangina cried about it.
So funny how little trolls like @raidernation210 sit in their Mom's wood paneled basement in green sweat pants posting about how the Patriots "cheated" 10 years ago.

Wahhh. The Patriots taped guys moving their hands in front of the ENTIRE STADIUM and their offense wasn't even that good back then. Keep crying goon...we'll just keep winning and going to Super Bowls and hopefully winning them...

Enjoying going 5-11 next year...ahaha

Yea, your roided up Raiders of the 70′s and 80′s were so innocent. Please

And there are no “astericks” next to the Patriots in any record book I’ve ever seen. The word is asterisk by the way, which should be by any IQ test you’ve taken that was greater than 4.

This stupid Raiders fan like others is crying about a rule/play from almost 12 years ago. Any time there is a thread that has anything to do with the Patriots or TB the haters come running. They are so stupid they don’t realize by doing that it shows how jealous they are.

Not crying just stating facts that have been proven and well documented. has nothing to do with jealousy, because our franchise has a way better history of winning than both of those combined. It is you losers who act like it never happened which makes you all look pretty stupid

They do it because they are jealous!
Plain and simple, if they didn't care THEY WOULDN'T COMMENT!

I'm not a Cowboys fan, I don't troll on Cowboy threads and make lame comments when Romo chokes.

@raidernation210

I love that your team is so horrible and such a joke to the league that the best thing you can do with your time is hover around Patriots related posts and wine about cameras while the Patriots are preparing for yet another playoff run.

What time is the Raiders game Sunday? Oh yea, they’ve had every January off for a decade! Ha, at least you have Carson Palmer…

----------------------------------------------------------
Another play off run that will end without a super bowl just like every other since there were caught cheating, fined by the league and has draft picks taken away.

And please don't let the last 12 years of the patriots cheating and being on top of the league and the raiders sucking change both teams history's because the raiders history and play off appereances and divisions wins and championship games played and players in the hall of fame. because the cheatriot's will never be compared without the ASTERICK for cheating

As for the Saragusa play… there’s a difference between a no call and a call that was clearly and indisputably bogus.

But you knew that already.

---------------------------------------------------------

No, what I know is the Ben Drieth call which I agree with, considering EVERY other call that has gone against the Raiders only gave the raiders a 1st down all new england had to was stop them and they didn't.

Where as in the Ravens game a roughing the passer call would have gave the raiders a first because it was a 3rd down play just like the drieth call. you really have no clue

And the tuck rule game raiders recovered the fumble the run out the clock game over. so please stop and get your facts straight

Wayne’s stats are amazing considering according to something I saw right before Indy played the Ravens last week, he had gone three playoff games without any catches. He’s been so phenomenal his whole career, but this year may have been his best year yet not only for how he played but also for what he meant to the team and his young QB. As a Pats fan, I gained even more respect for him when he turned down an offer to play for my team to stay in Indy. That type of thing does not happen much anymore.

@ bucslose, I agree with you on BB/TB. I get sick of the huge amount of black and white viewpoints of “one is nothing without the other” etc. They make each other better…period.
