Hellooooo, a great or good OC, or even DC does not necessarily make a great head coach! TAKE Mike Martz e had the right system , the right head coach (Vermeil) and the right tools to get it done but wasnt satisfied w being just OC, forced the retirement of Vermy, and then proceeded to blow a ton of things. How good of a head coach was Singletary, the last two or three head coaches fofootballr rams. And can we stop with the stupid racial refrences, does it have to come into every conversation. We get an African American President and race relations and comments are worse than they were 20 years ago.Or should I say 30 to keep in line with the previous false information of no black coaches “back in the day” For God’s sake lets just play football and i hope Schotty stays at least for continuity forSam, although i do question his play calling on occasion

Please don’t leave for Bradford’s sake. He needs some stability and he’s an elite receiver away from becoming an elite player himself.

Brian Schottenheimer is not that great of an OC. When he had a “successful” offense in New york (which was still in the upper 20′s in ranking) all they did was run the ball with Thomas Jones…The guy can’t call plays, and in St. Louis he loves to abanon the run when it is going well

I think that head coaches are overrated in terms of their impact on the fortunes of the franchise. G.M. and starting QB are both more important. Most NFL coaches who’ve been around for awhile have gone from “genius” to “get outta here” and back again a few times. It’s a matter of getting a few key players to peak at the same time.

How can it? New offensive coordinator has to be a new system – or – Fisher isn’t letting the offensive coordinator do his job!
Want to succeed? Hire a good coordinator and let them fly – want to fail – try to do TOO much – hamstring your staff.

Brian Schottenheimer is a good coach. Jets fans were too harsh on him. He did have some bad moments as a play caller but overall, he did a decent job as their OC. I actually think that he has a bright future as a head coach in the league.

I have to agree with D’Marco Farr and what he said today.

Stay with the Rams for a couple seasons. They have a young, ascending QB and a young, ascending team.

If things go well Schotty builds his stock and future HC opportunities will come with franchises in better shape than Jacksonville.

I don’t see a first time HC succeeding there.

Keep Bradford in a system he knows…not downplaying his ability, but he obviously needs it. I liked him coming out (albeit overhyped) but lets wait and see what hes got with another year.

Fritz Pollard was a head coach, person of color, was a player/coach in 1921, full HC in 1923. 90 years ago.

While not a HC – Art Shell started coaching under Tom Flores in 1983. 30 years ago.

Wayne Fontes started coaching in the NFL in 1975, HC by ’88

Lets not act like NO ONE ever got a sniff of an NFL job till the Rooney rule.

Bradford needs stability, so we can find out if he is a franchise QB. I thought it was a huge mistake not grabbing RG3 looks like I might have been mistaken.

Both Sanchez, and now Bradford’s best years have come under him. Ian Rapoport is hearing that insiders think he’d make a better HC than OC. But I doubt Jax goes with Schotty. I wouldn’t worry too much Rams fans, but never say never…
