Marcus Vick sentenced to jail time for contempt of court

Marcus Vick AP

While his brother, Michael, spent most of the year in the headlines for his poor play and the struggles of the Philadelphia Eagles, former Miami Dolphins quarterback Marcus Vick has been in the headlines for his exploits off the field.

Those exploits have now led to jail time.

According to the Associated Press, Vick has been sentenced to five days for contempt of court after failing to provide adequate documentation of his financial situation prior to a court-imposed deadline.

Vick caused a stir earlier this year for comments made on his twitter account. Vick begged the Eagles to trade his brother and criticized their offensive line while the elder Vick was playing against the New Orleans Saints on Monday night. Michael was forced to respond to the comments after the game and wasn’t pleased with his brother’s actions.

The jail sentence is just the latest in Vick’s continued off-field troubles. Judge Brett Geisler issued the arrest warrant for Vick in a case regarding a $40,000 promissory note. Vick’s agent told the AP he hoped Vick will be able to provide the additional documentation or a reason why he was unable to do so.

I heard that he only was on the field for one snap, as a receiver. He ran the wrong route and caused an interception. So ended the illustrious NFL career of Marcus Vick.

this ass clown should not even be referred to as a former player. he only got a shot because of his brother and was in the league enough to get a cup of coffee. although I must admit it is fun seeing him regarded as a former dulfin.

  19. seanb20124 says: Jan 10, 2013 6:56 AM

    This kid has an agent?

  20. ejm845 says: Jan 10, 2013 7:11 AM

When mike gets his 3million $ roster bonus in a couple weeks he can help him out

  21. ravenheath21 says: Jan 10, 2013 7:21 AM

How could they even call him a former dolphin? He was only activated for one game and only took one snap for no gain. I’m a former Oriole cause i caught a foul ball in the stands. why is the media following this loser. Papparazzi doesnt follow the extras.

  28. dexterismyhero says: Jan 10, 2013 8:15 AM

Former Miami QB. How many completions for his career?

    Loser.

  29. tharoostah says: Jan 10, 2013 8:34 AM

“The jail sentence is just the latest in Vick’s continued off-field troubles.”

How can you call them off the field troubles when he is never on the field?

  30. cometkazie says: Jan 10, 2013 8:36 AM

Lack of values must be a family trait.

  31. reesesteel23 says: Jan 10, 2013 9:37 AM

  32. seabronco says: Jan 10, 2013 9:41 AM

  33. eatitfanboy says: Jan 10, 2013 9:41 AM

Maybe he just doesn’t have any finances to document.

  34. deenice810 says: Jan 10, 2013 9:42 AM

What does this clown do for a living and why does he have an agent?

  35. laserw says: Jan 10, 2013 12:15 PM

Yo, Marcus. Perhaps you should club some kittens in order to have more street cred in jail. Contempt of court – that is pretty lame.

  36. fordmandalay says: Jan 10, 2013 2:03 PM

As the song goes; “It’s a hard life for a talentless low-life loudmouth who makes his living as a parasite off his brother’s success”.

  37. tahjay says: Jan 10, 2013 2:34 PM

So he’s about to spend the same amount of time imprisoned as he did being the Dolphin’s QB.

  38. fancyleague says: Jan 10, 2013 6:51 PM

Marcus and Michael are giving each “agent?” comment a thumbs down.
