See, the thing with most fullbacks is that they’re supposed to be excellent blockers and/or decent secondary runners. I haven’t seen the blocking thing done well by Tebow during his wildcat/special teams play; and I haven’t seen enough of him run ike a RB (instead of scrambling for yards as QB) to determine if he does that well, either.

How are his hands as far as catching the ball? That should give him a clear shot for being a TE at least if his mitts are good enough for that.

Hey, Caldwell could be lying too. In fact, it’d be pretty smart of him to reinforce the conventional wisdom on Timmy. Means he can pick him up in a trade cheaper, or perhaps on waivers.

It may have been a virtual certainty under the former regime, but not with Caldwell in charge. Caldwell is smart by not tying himself to Tebow & having his job dependent upon Tebow miraculously becoming even an average QB (with the Jags’ weapons, all they need is an average QB). I really thought there was a good chance, once Mularkey was fired, that you would see Tebow & Marc Trestman reunite in Jacksonville. However, I was wrong. If it doesn’t happen, which it looks like it won’t, the ONLY landing spot I see for Tebow is with the Montreal Alouettes of the CFL, assuming Trestman isn’t picked up by another NFL team as a head coach or offensive coordinator.

The new GM of the Jags stated in his press conference that TT will not be coming to Jax. If he goes back on that, he will instantly lose a lot of credibility with the fans.

How could someone call it tampering when Tebow asks to be traded, the Jets say they’re open to trading him, and the Jags express interest? That sounds like the beginning of trade talks to me.

I wasn’t an English major but I believe that putting the word virtual in front of the word certainty could imply that it is not 100% certain. As a writer and an attorney I would think you would understand that.

Tebow should let God “lead” him to play fullback, where I think the Lord would bless him with a lot more success than playing quarterback. I think it’s time that he humble himself away from the QB position because it appears that nobody wants to hire him.

Can we all just admit that ESPN is just the sports version of Entertainment Tonight and is nothing but gossip and headlines to attract attention, even if they are not near “certain”?

So your calling him wrong, before anything has happened?? You can call him wrong come week 1 of next year, but until then he may still be right. Ever think that maybe they are trying to show no interest in order to get a better deal if and when it happens. Think about it, you made a story about Mort being wrong, before its played out.. Makes you look a little immature and unproffessional if you ask me…
