APOn Wednesday night, multiple reports emerged almost spontaneously and simultaneously that the Eagles are interested in Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly.
The feeding frenzy spawned a suggestion that the Bears are interested, too. However, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Kelly is not a candidate to coach the Bears.
Maybe G.M. Phil Emery realizes that Kelly is simply hoping to finagle more money from the Fighting Irish. Or maybe Emery simply isn’t looking for a college coach; none of his 13 candidates come from that level of the sport.
Regardless, Jensen says that Kelly won’t be making the relatively short trek from South Bend to Chicago.

There’s about as much interest in the Bears job as there is in the Browns job.
Whew. Do not want.
Still, can’t blame Kelly for capitalizing on this for either more money or an NFL job because, let’s face it, it took an incredibly fortunate run to get to where they did.
I’m actually kind of glad he’s not looking into college coaches, instead of crossing his fingers in hopes that the guy he hires is the sequel to Jim Harbaugh and not another coaching bust, like so many that go from college straight to head coaching an NFL team.
Yeah, no interest in the Bear’s job. Emery has interviewed how many candidates?
Emery doesn’t want to be a pawn in Kelly’s money grab.
The Bears will hire Mike McCoy.
Believe nothing else.
Eagles want a college coach so Howie doesn’t have to feel threatened.
I like Brian Kelly, but how bad do you hafta be to not make the Bears’ list?
After that Bama game, Notre Dame may not be interested in Kelly either.
