The Browns cast a wide net, but with the available candidates what’s the boot-to-fish ratio? It looks like Haslam and Banner have already painted themselves into a corner when Chip Kelly went back to Oregon. And as they continue on this backwards route of hiring a coach THEN general manager, quality GM’s are coming off the board. It’s like watching the same mistakes Lerner made all over again.

Weedon will be plenty good enough. Shurmur wouldn’t be able to develop Dan Marino he was that bad. For all you Jon Gruden lovers that post, he loves Weedon (research it). So how is it that you say Weedon is not the answer after 1 year with a terrible coach? His age doesn’tbother me a bit. Get 6 good years out and thats good, which is the same shelf life of RG111.

Well, in 2011 with Skelton and Kolb he went 8-8.

With Kolb in 2012 he went 4-2.

LOL. He went to the Superbowl with a Hall of Fame QB and WR. Players that he didnt develop. A lot of coaches can do that.

Mike Singletary out-coached Whisnenhunt each and Everytime the 49ers and Cardinals played each other. EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

He is a great coach. I think Arizon was nuts to get rid of him. Overall, teams need to realize that there are ups and downs, and its better to ride it out with a coach you KNOW is capible than to risk getting a new coach you don’t know about – but HOPE is better.

Whisenhunt has PROVEN he can take a team to the superbowl IF he has the on-field players supporting him. What else do you want?

If Cleveland gets the right coach, they could get that franchise turned around quickly, they have over $40 million in cap space. Why anyone would want that job with the new owner is beyond me.

He could never find a QB in Arizona once Warner retired. Now, he’s possibly going to a franchise that has not found a QB since they rejoined the league.
