Sorry, but Rex is a poor head coach. Keeps going to Sanchez, jerked Tebow around, and ran his mouth like crazy with no results. His someday is long past.

what is it about the Jets getting Dolphins rejects?

The Fins fired Sparano for a reason. The Fins fired Cameron (their worst coach ever, and maybe even worse than Kotite) for a reason. Just because the Jets can have some success with former Fins players (Bell, JT, Lex Hilliard) doesn’t mean they can do it with former coaches. And just because Cameron had some success developing Joe Flacco doesn’t mean he can turn Sanchez around. Flacco works hard, but Sanchez? He doesn’t care as long as he get paid, which he will no matter what happens to him.

How could they’ve looked at Sanchez in 2011 and say ” jeez this guy is so good that he needs a new contract” ? They did it to themselves and not they have to deal with it. Sanchez is not an NFL QB. He’s a spoiled kid from USC who was given the keys to a Ferrari there and has been handled w/kid gloves since he walked through the Jets doors.

Palmer 4018 YDS PAS / 22 TD / 14 INT 61.3%
Sanchez 2883 YDS PAS / 13 TD / 18 INT 54.3%

Carson can make all the throws. His accuracy allows him to throw the ball into holes the size of a large pizza. Sanchez chucks and prays. Palmer isn’t what he used to be, but its not a huge dropoff. And he’s playing with more patience in his later years.

Hue Jackson would be a good hire if the Jets want a dynamic attacking offense. And Carson Palmer would be a huge upgrade over the sad and pitiful Sanchez. Palmer can still throw with authority. But he would be brutalized without a significant improvement in the Jets’ O-line. CP is tough, but he’s not that tough.

Exactly why I like what Buffalo did with Marrone and Hackett and to a lesser extent Pettine. No guarantees on how it’ll all turn out but at least it isn’t more of the same mediocre retreads rolling in for another 3 year and out…

Actually the Daily News got it wrong.

It’s not Hue Jackson, it’s Hugh Jackman.

And he wouldn’t really be serving as coordinator. He’s just doing some research for an upcoming football film and wants to watch Rex and learn how NOT to coach.

I swear there must be a rule buried deep in the league’s rules that once someone has been in the league X years, no matter how AWFUL they are at their job, a team is required to hire them.

That’s way more logical than someone hiring Cam Cameron because they think he’s good.

Gotta wonder if Woody Johnson is the one selecting assistant coaches who all have head coaching experience.

Sure, the owner isn’t supposed to tell his head coach who to hire as his assistants, but an owner isn’t supposed to tell a General Manager who to hire as his head coach either.

If Woody Johnson has had any input into this trio, that doesn’t bode well for Wrecks.

All three of those guys were disasters as head coaches. As coordinators it was a mixed bag, but none of them excite me. Carson Palmer is barely an upgrade over Sanchez. The Jets are a mess.
