The Panthers are already moving on finding a replacement for Rob Chudzinski, who was hired as the new Browns head coach today.
According to Albert Breer of the NFL Network, the Panthers asked permission to interview Bengals assistant coach Hue Jackson for the vacant coordinator job.
The Jets are apparently also interested in talking to Jackson.
Jackson goes through a lot of jobs, and was caught on the wrong side of a regime change in Oakland, but he’s well-respected within the league and has plenty of experience working with quarterbacks and calling plays.
UPDATE 3:31 p.m. ET: Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports that former Browns head coach Pat Shurmur is also among the candidates to replace Chudzinski. Shurmur and head coach Ron Rivera worked together in Philadelphia.
