By hiring Monte Kiffin as defensive coordinator, Jerry Jones not only will employ someone older than he is, but also has improved the Cowboys’ playoff stock in 2013.

Wasn’t this defense top 5?? another coach fired for a bad GM/Owners personnel choices.. Scapegoat
The cowgirls will finish with 5-6 wins. Book it!
My concerns aren’t with his age. My concerns would be that he was a successful coach in the NFL a decade ago and the offenses have changed a lot since then. When you look at how Kiffin did against some modern offenses in the Pac, it didn’t go well.
Man, that’s an awful comb-over

The last time he coached in the NFL was 2008. I don’t think that offenses have drasicaly changed since then, other than WAS/CAR. Don’t forget that he coached an overrated USC team. The Tampa 2 requires fast and versatile players, you don’t find that in college football outside of the elite teams in the SEC. My opinion: college football was not a good fit for him.
He has been playing against the spread option more than any other def coordinator in the league playing in the pac-10. that is why they got this guy. this is where the nfl is trying to go offensively. and he still can roll with the tampa 2 if need be. great get.
