When new general managers take over in January or February, they usually hang onto the existing scouting staff to get them through the draft in April.

But after that, old guys are usually fair game.

Still, the Rams diverted from the normal post-draft house-cleaning, as they got rid of three members of their college scouting department Friday.

According to Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the Rams fired assistant director of college scouting John Mancini and area scouts Drew Casani and Luke Driscoll.

Mancini was the former college scouting director, but was demoted when GM Les Snead was hired last year.

Given that we’re three months and change from the draft, it’s likely that Snead has some people in mind for those jobs.

UPDATE 6:07 p.m. ET: We’re reminded that Driscoll did give the Rams a reason two years ago, with his arrest for public nudity after being caught urinating on a building in Indianapolis.
