All those Eagles fans who think Kelly would be a lousy hire, fear not. It’s not definite that he’s coming to Philadelphia until it’s certain that he’s told his players face-to-face that he’s not going.

Yeah, that’s exactly what he did at Cincinnati. It got little publicity only because of where he was going at that time.

I’m sure the older Eagles fans out there are cringing at the thought of Kelly being the hire, remembering the last time Philly went to Notre Dame for a coach. Anyone out there remember Joe Kuharich?

Whose sense?? The same media that keeps guessing who has and hasn’t been hired?

I don’t understand why the media seems to think interviewing multiple people means you don’t know what your doing. When you have a job opening at your work do you hire the first person that you interview?

Notre Dame is one of the few college jobs that trumps most NFL ones. Unless he just has this burning desire to be an NFL head coach, the Eagles definitely won’t pay more than the Golden Domers.

I don’t know how Kelly can come back to Notre Dame after all this. He’s shown that he doesn’t have a loya bone in his body and has no regard for Notre Dame, its tradition, jack Swarbrick, his players or anyone except himself. His timing seems designed to destroy ND’s current recruiting class. Why would this turncoat even consider taking a big demotion to work for the no-class Eagles? When I saw Kelly interviewed with Lou Holtz and Ara Parseghian he looked uncomfortable and now I know why. An unscrupulous carpetbagger is always going to look bad alongside his superiors. Kelly is nowhere near their class, personally or professionally. I’m thoroughly disgusted.

Everyone will point to what he did with ND this year, but I think back on his time with University of Cincinnati and feel it was his most impressive as a coach. Obviously he didn’t take them to a national championship, but he did take a team and make them overachieve each year. 34-6 record with that school.

The last college coach the Eagles hired to be head coach worked out great and that was Dick Vermiel.I think Kelly would make a great NFL head coach.

Brian Kelly is a homerun if the eagles get him. Not sure why all the hate, the man has a proven track record of building excellent teams and quickly. He has a system that clearly works, and he runs NFL style offense (unlike Chip Kelly). He is a natural leader as its clear that his teams give him everything they got, the undefeated records say it all. To me, there is a lot of similarities to the Jim Harbaugh situation 2 years ago: both run pro-style offenses, both had to recruit with very difficult academic restrictions, and both has success with inferior athletes. He is the type of coach that could turn it around immediately, just like Harbaugh, so I hope the birdgang can land him.

I think the reason they keep going after college coaches or young assistants for the most part, and not going after Jon Gruden, is that it’s looking like they want someone they can keep under their thumb. And that’s bad.

For Gruden to get no attention in all of this there has to be a real bad reason. And Gruden isn’t a guy who is a yes man and isn’t a guy who is afraid to butt heads, especially over personell; and they already have a bean counter as GM so they probably are afraid of any coach with a spine.

I think that’s what’s keeping Gruden outof the picture. He’s his own man and that’s a dumb reason to limit themselves and a dumb plan they’re going forward with.

Don’t get the negativity towards Brian Kelly. His track record is superior to Chip Kelly and a lot of other college coaches. I think there is just Notre Dame hate or Notre Dame fans who don’t want him to go. He’s an east coast guy who could do well in Philly..

So, they want the coach who just got stomped in his last game? The NFL doesn’t run on biased polls where your team is given extra consideration because they mattered 20 years ago, not sure he’s a wise choice.
