Jets want David Lee to continue his AFC East tour

The Jets don’t have a G.M. but they have a head coach.  They also don’t have an offensive coordinator but they soon could have a quarterbacks coach.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets hope to hire former Bills and Dolphins quarterbacks coach David Lee.  Though former Dolphins head coach and former Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano gets the credit, it was Lee who brought the Wildcat to Miami in 2008.  Sparano was supposed to bring the Wildcat to New York in 2012, but as former Jets special-teams coordinator Mike Westhoff explained it on Friday, the end result was “an absolute mess.”

It’s unknown whether the Jets would want Lee to bring the Wildcat with him, but if Mark Sanchez is going to be the starting quarterback the Jets will benefit from having an alternative attack that dilutes defensive preparation.

Assuming, of course, that they’ll actually use it.

For the love o’ God, stop talking about the Wildcat. Nothing is done less and talked about more in all of American sports.

Note he is a former coach associated with two teams near the bottom of the AFC for last several years.

If the Jets are compelled to keep Mark Sanchez as their starting QB…they will greatly benefit by having an OC who is also an accomplished QBs Coach. I agree with the above comment: screw the Wildcat; first get back to solid, mistake-free, creative offensive football.

I bet Lee could re-invent Mark Sanchez’s QB style and revive his career.

Hopefully the Jets continue taking the Dolphins trash.

Great news! Lee did an amazing job with Fitzpatrick this year……oh wait nevermind.

Until the Jets upgrade the talent and skill level on the offensive side of the football then it will not matter who the offensive coordinator is calling the plays.

Lee was supposed to make Ryan Fitzpatrick a much better QB in ’12. Uh, huh….

Maybe he can “fine tune” Sanchez’s throwing motion the way he did Fitzpatricks! Ha ha ha! Go BILLS!

He sure helped Vince Young and Tarvarus Jackson reach their goals of unseating hall of fame quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick..
    More jets dumpster diving.

At least this time they would get the right guy for the Wildcat. If you wanted to do the WC, shouldn’t you at least have gotten the guy who actually implemented it in the first place? Jets will suck as long as Footsie is HC. He’s incompetent as a leader. Their whole organization seems incompetent though.

Rex: David Lee is a QB guru. If anyone can save the Sanchize; it’s him.

Woody: Didn’t Buffalo say that with Ryan Fitzpatrick last year?

    Lee: I’m a coach – not a god.

…… and i’m a Bills fan, by the way.
