It speaks to the confidence that they feel they have a great chance to move forward to the NFC championship game and beyond, they don’t want to make those guys keep waiting.

Bevell should get credit for being able to adapt so quickly from the QB situation last year, to planning for Flynn, then having to change in the pre-season and 4-5 weeks in, for the change to Wilson.

Bradley got the horses this year he didn’t have the previous years (and under Mora).

So while you’d like to keep the guys, and you wish them all the best, its comforting to know that the biggest reason the Seahawks are where they are in the past 3 years, is because of the personnel Schnieder and Carroll have worked to bring in.

The positivity that Carroll brings to the roster, coaches, and organization, so that the next OC and DC will be that much further ahead when they start.

Lurie and Roseman, whatever you do wait as long as you can until Seattle’s done (whenever it is) and hire Gus Bradley. He’s the defensive leader this team has needed since Jim died.

Darrell Bevell has coordinator blood in him not HC. When we had T-Jack he was below average it’s really QB Russell Wilson that makes him look good.

On the other hand Gus would be REALLY GOOD head coach, but I hope he stays!

Exactly. What, do you think the Seahawks are installing a game plan on Saturday afternoon? The coaches have done their work, now it’s the players’ obligation to be sure they’ve learned it, and implemented it.

What makes it difficult is that it just isn’t about hiring a new HC in most cases. It also comes down to filling out the rest of the coaching staff. The desired candidates for those other positions can get snapped up pretty quickly, long before the end of the season.

So, even though those HC candidates that are still in the playoffs can interview for HC positions now, it still puts them at a distinct disadvantage when it comes to other teams hiring them as new HC’s.

stick a fork in em. They are done. Team has been overachieving and sprinkle in some luck. This is a distraction that they don’ t need. last week they were getting fried by the Redskins while RG3 was still feeling the benefits of pain killers on his knee, before he reinjured it. Matt Ryan’s KNee is fine.

Best of luck to both of them. They have won the right to compete for coaching positions and to improve themselves. That’s the way it’s supposed to be. We would miss them terribly but at the same time, good for them.

Pete Carroll has always said that he wants his assistant coaches to advance themselves, and that he would do everything in his power to help them. This is how Pete will continue to get the top assistants to come work for him.

I like Pete Carroll’s altruistic approach to this issue. He wants to develop his coaches so that they have these opportunities. He (defense) and Tom Cable (offense) can handle the walk-throughs and technology allows for them to keep in contact with Bevell and Bradley if they see something that needs to be tweeked. This is totally overblown…

The NFL should change the rule that no new coaches can be hired until after the super bowl. The current rules are unfair to candidates that are still playing.
