APTexans receiver DeVier Posey suffered a torn Achilles tendon injury in Sunday’s loss to the Patriots.
Posey went down in pain and had to be carted off the field, and he confirmed the diagnosis after the game.
“It felt like I got shot. I’ve never felt anything like it,” Posey told John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
The Texans took Posey in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft, and although he got off to a slow start in his rookie season, he was showing promise late in the year, with six catches for 87 yards in the final four games of the regular season. Before he got hurt against the Patriots he was playing well, catching three passes for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Now Posey will have surgery and a long offseason of rehabilitation. A torn Achilles tendon is a very serious injury, one that could affect him into the 2013 season.

“It felt like I got shot. I’ve never felt anything like it…”
well in that same breath, how would be knows how it feels like to get shot?
Wait, what’s going on here? People are wishing an exciting young athlete well and hoping he’ll get better soon instead of calling him a fraud and hoping that his career is over. I guess Robert Griffin’s biggest mistake was not playing for the Texans.
Seriously though, this kid has a great career ahead of him and should be a serious threat opposite Andre for years to come, hope he heals up quick.
Wow, huge blow to the Texans that he won’t be able to go next week. Oh, wait…
Too bad..sounded like the Texans were fairly high on him…they need a receiver outside of Johnson to step up..hope he recovers quickly and well. Nice catch he made for the td
Bowers and Suggs both came back from Achilles injuries a lot earlier than usual. Its not unrealistic that this guy’s 2013 season won’t be touched.
does he have to return his letterman jacket?
JJ Watt spit on him as the cart went by. It’s just part of his gameday routine.
That was a pretty good “near catch” he made, too.
