Yes Schaub at the start of the season was being called an elite. He is no Tom Brady but he is a descent QB and like most have said, the Texan’s aren’t going to find anyone better anytime soon. I look at the Defense giving up 41 points. The defense looked confused. Schaub’s lack of urgency also hurt the Texans, but I also look at the coaching as well. Kubiak is not aggressive enough and he shouldn’t be calling the plays. The Texans also need another WR and I would say another RB coach as well. This team was picked from early in the season as “The Team” but in the end couldn’t produce and fell short. I would look at my coaching staff before I look at another QB. I think the Texan’s need to focus on their secondary as well. The need a better bench than what they have. Too many key players get hurt each year and it hurts the Texans.

The Texans will be a force next year as well but neeeds to do some restructuring and look at beefing up some of the wholes through the draft and free agents.

that was a fundamental coaching philosophy that needs to be changed in the offense…..the texans need to get younger, faster and more hungry this offseason…..they lost the home field down the stretch and the game vs NE yesterday because they didnt upgrade at WR, let the entire right side of their O-line leave, and did not have quality backups who could spell starters…

NE lost Gronk….Hernandez takes over….they lost Woodhead…Shane Vereen and Stephen Ridley killed the Texans…..Texans didnt even play their 2nd rb yesterday, Ben Tate, who ran for over 1500 yds the last two seasons….

Texans also let go of Jacoby Jones, and he ended up making first team all pro kick returner and scored game tying 70 yd td vs Denver….they let go off Jones replacement, Trindon Holliday, who returned a punt and a kickoff for a td vs Baltimore this weekend…..

Kubiak needs to grow some grapefruits this offseason…

…it was a 4 pt lead for the Pats at halftime, then the Texans defense failed to come out of the locker room for the 3rd qtr.

Schaub threw for one yard less than Brady…and now the sports media tries to put the loss on the Texan’s QB..

Personally I think Schaub has run his course. He is getting up there in age (32 by next season) and has a Peyton Manning like tendency to choke in big games. Houston would be smart to draft a QB in rounds 2-4 to compete with Yates and be a possible QB of the future.

If that is what you are attempting to do, then I have lost a lot of respect for this blog. First and foremost, Sanchez can’t even sit down at same table with Schaub.

The Texans plain and simple lost to a better team, and a team that is clicking on all cylinders. End of conversation!

The Texans have proved you can’t rely on an Offense that isn’t built to overcome a substantial point deficit.

And that’s why Jim Harbaugh switched to Kaepernick- he knew they were going to need explosive offense to mount a come-back at some point, even with their great Defense.

Exactly… Stop comparing him to the whole league and compare him to the QBs that have a shot at winning a super bowl.

Of the teams in the divisional round. You would rank Schaub last. You can also a few QBs that didnt make it to that round. Thats all that matters. It doesnt if he is better than Mark Sanchez, Chad Henne, etc. Texans arent playing to get into the playoffs. They want to win the Super Bowl.

You probably cant trade for a QB but you can draft one. Of the 8 QBs in the Divisional Round, only 2 were top 10 1st round picks. Move up in the draft if you have to.

Tittle won lots of big games for the Giants between 1961-1963, he just never won the biggest (two losses to the golden era Pack, one to da Bears when they injured his knee early [Def Coord George Allen got the game ball]).

Jesus H, clearly I’m making a joke, hair could not possibly have less correlation to success in professional sports. In case it does though, Peyton should probably hop on that Rogaine train before it’s too late.

The League has changed. Relying on a game-mgr. type QB isn’t likely to get anyone the Lombardi now.

Starting QB’s, let alone ones who can win don’t exactly grow on trees or fall too far past the first 10 picks in most drafts.

Also, Manning lost the same weekend, so you can’t even point to him exactly being an obvious upgrade. And that would have cost Bob McNair a lot more money for the privilege on top of all that.

I’m so sick of fans acting like they “deserve” to win the Super Bowl. Go back to work and get better. This is your team. Unless Schaub or some other key player gets hurt to send you to the top of the draft, this is the horses youre going to win or lose with until the current nucleus is gone. If Schaub wasn’t the guy, somebody should have realized that when you were going 8-8 with him every year. Stop whining about it.

Now the irony is you have some drop back QB’s like Rogers, Mannings and Brady who are good but the running guys are catching up quickly.
