Texans score first, but could have had more

AP

Five weeks ago, the Texans didn’t score a point against the Patriots until New England had put 28 on the board.  This time, Houston struck first.

A 94-yard kickoff return from Danieal Manning put the Texans at the Pats’ 12 yard line.  Four plays later, Houston broke the tie, 3-0.

It should have been more.  Tight end/fullback James Casey dropped what would have been a walk-in touchdown pass on second down.  On third and seven, quarterback Matt Schaub overthrew Andre Johnson in the back of the end zone.

Still, the Texans lead.  And that’s something most thought would never be said today.
