Eagles proceed with Jay Gruden interview, not Bruce Arians

Arians

The Eagles proceed with their coaching search, battling a perception that they don’t have a plan. Even if they actually do.

Whatever the plan, it apparently doesn’t include Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. According to CSNPhilly.com, Arians won’t be interviewed on Tuesday, contrary to multiple reports that he would be. Previously, the Eagles announced that they had received permission to interview Arians.

The Eagles have met as planned with Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden. Also, the Eagles announced on Monday that they interviewed on Monday former Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Some believe Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley is the favorite to land the job. On Sunday, reports emerged that the Eagles secretly interviewed former Ravens coach Brian Billick.

Previously, the Eagles pursued a quartet of college head coaches. Three of them (Penn State’s Bill O’Brien, Oregon’s Chip Kelly, and Notre Dame’s Brian Kelly) remained at their current positions; Doug Marrone of Syracuse accepted the Bills job without interviewing with the Eagles.
