Thanks for pointing that out to me. For some reason, I thought it was officially locked. After some resarch though, it does look like there are some limits:

According to the NFL’s rulebook, “clubs participating in the playoffs are permitted to sign free agents throughout the postseason, but are limited to a total of four free agent signings, including players on other clubs’ Practice Squads, during the period that begins at 4 p.m., New York time, on the Wednesday after the final regular season weekend.”

Teams can not sign more than two such players during any week of the postseason.

Brian Daboll did excellent work with the receivers when he coached in NE. That area of the game will play an important role this week against the Ravens.

I’m assuming the workflow will be:

- Daboll calls a play from the booth to McDaniels headset
- McDaniels then determines what the exact opposite of that play is and radios it to Brady
- Brady scores

Watching Daboll try and assemble that Chiefs offense this year was pretty painful.

Playoff teams 53 man rosters are not frozen during the playoffs. Teams can cut and pick up any player who was not on a 53 man roster the final day of the season.

Look at Seattle. The IR’ed their kicker and signed Ryan Longwell last week.

SF signed Bill Cundiff during their bye week.

It also shows that once again, BB was right about who merited promotion (and I am not a Joshie fan). Developing assistants is a very underrated skill not all HCs have. He does. That’s one reason they don’t succeed away from him. They just take only people from his staff instead of being able to develop any of their own guys in addition to that.

How many chances is this guy gonna get to fail? Turrible (thanks, Chuck) as the Browns OC, and the same in Miami & KC. He cannot coordinnate. Only Belichick’s guys can get that many chances. Now, he is going to go back to NE, get the funk off of him and somebody is going to give his sorry tail yet ANOTHER shot in a couple years.

McDaniels will be a head coach again next year so they are just getting his replacement ready.

I thought he got a bad rap in Denver and still has a lot of potential as a coach, he just has to reel it in a bit or he will turn off the veteran players and opponents.

Something about hiring fired coaches to help your team in the middle of a playoff run just doesn’t sit right with me.

Just like your 53-man roster, it seems like your coaching staff should be frozen through the playoffs as well.

Brilliant move by BB. If I’m not mistaken the Chiefs played the NFC South this year so if the Pats win this weekend they have some info on Atlanta from him or SF as NE played the NFC West this year. Absolutely brilliant!
