ReutersBrandon Marshall may not be defending his Pro Bowl MVP award.
Marshall, according to Michael C. Wright of ESPNChicago.com, needs arthroscopic surgery on his hip.
It’s unclear whether the looming procedure will keep Marshall from playing in the Pro Bowl. Vikings defensive end Jared Allen has said he needs shoulder surgery, but that he plans to play in Hawaii at the end of the month.
Marshall had six catches for 176 yards and four touchdowns for the AFC in the 2012 Pro Bowl. He’s due to be a member of the starting offense for the NFC all-star team after his first season with the Bears.
Marshall at no point during the 2012 season appeared on the injury report with a hip injury.

Pro Bowl MVP is like dominating the picnic volleyball game. Someone always takes it too seriously.
Wow. This kinda came outta no where.
He really was a baller this season. Wish him a speedy recovery!
I’d take that injured hip back on dolphins any day
Blame it on Lovie Smith. Everything else was.
Oh, no, this is terrible news. We are really going to miss him in the Pro Bowl, when everyone on both teams lines up and pretends to play football, or they do that football mime class thing, or when the O and D lines do the tango or whatever they call it in this so-called game.
HaHa Deangelo Hall was the probowl MVP once…. Joke.
Damn. That’s not like a scope of the knee… And playing in Chicago, with those elements, will not help.
Actually he needs nutrition in the form of minerals
This is why Twitter sucks…Somebody posts something, but you get no details…Wishing Brandon a quick recovery, in any case.
At least he’s taking care of it now compared to Sidney Rice. Perhaps listening to Kennard McGuire is wiser than listening to Drew Rosenhaus.
Probowl MVP equals gym class hero
Dang McDonald’s wrapper again…….
Aside from the fact that the Pro Bowl is the biggest joke in all of sports….Marshall shouldn’t even consider playing in this game. Go get your surgery done and start rehabbing. He’s the entire offense in Chicago.

Along with Cutler and Forte.
Michael also reported, and I’m not sure why it wasn’t included here, that it was a scoping, nothing major, and Marshall should be back to normal in 2 weeks.
Mashall needs to take good care of him self because Cutler and the rest
of the team will need him. Dont pull a Urlacher move. he didnt take care of his knee all off season and wasnt playing by the end of the season.
It’s from carrying the offense all season long. That does a number on your hips AND your back, from what I hear.
It’s better than abdomen surgery from stabbing yourself. SMH
That is at least his third hip surgery. That’s going to slow him down at some point. Doesn’t seem to be affecting him much right now though. The only thing that typically keeps him off the field is when he gets arrested for beating up his wife (like ten times). Or when she stabs him. Or when he “slips on a McDonald’s bag” and puts his fist through a window. Or…
predicted this guy was gonna be # 1 fantasy wr this year, and he was. dudes a beast ! I will still be drafting him in the 2nd rd of every league i am in, maybe late 1st……
Mike Crabtree can take his place.
Its arthroscopic. Very minor procedure. If he absolutely had to have it during the.season he would have missed one, maybe two games. Concerned more about a staph infection than the surgery itself
What Marshall needs is brain surgery.
