First of all he is currently coaching a more talent defense than there is in Philly, so don’t expect him to make water out of wine.

Second of all did you see his soft defense give up the game winning football drive on Sunday.

Zimmer has coached six top-10 defenses in 13 seasons, including three in the past four years.

His defenses have never ranked worse than 19th, other than the one season he coached in ATL with the disaster Bobby Petrino.

I’m stoked we get to keep him in Cincy, but I gotta wonder why he isn’t at least getting interviews.

Then consider that on the current Seattle defense, there’s only one first-round pick who is a starter (Thomas), two second rounders (Wagner, Branch), two third rounders (Mebane, Hill), and the rest are fourth round and below, including two UDFAs (Browner, Clemons). This tells you Bradley doesn’t need a ton of pedigreed talent to make a good defense.

The only open question is, how much of the Seattle defense is his, and how much of it is Carroll and Schneider. Schneider said it was his philosophy to build a team that could win a street fight…has being around the Seattle D given Bradley the same mentaility? Also, given the defensive breakdowns in Seattle down the stretches of some games, who is more responsible for the playcalling, him or Carroll? Regardless, Bradley is a “people person” who works very well with players, and he’s likely learned quite a bit about putting together a good defense the past three years. Philly, or any other team, could probably do a lot worse.

I’d rather have the GM who picked all of the talent that I see on Seahawks roster.

Bradley/Whisenhaunt/Billick etc….only as good as the person who picks the players, which in this case is a glorified lawyer.

Alas.. The eagles. A team that comes with a lot of pressure. Everything you do is under a microscope. BUT, this eagles team is a few pieces away from being a competitive team again. Peters and herramens are coming back from injury. Young offensive weapons on offense. And a defense that has talent, yet struggled with cohesiveness.

The eagles have always been able to put points up, but that past 2 years the defense has given up 30 points a game with regularity

Gus I’m pulling for ya to be the next coach. This town needs a defense that punches people in the mouth again and I see you as the coach that propels the eagles d in the right direction

Just hire him and get it over with so we don’t have to read more drivel about this clown car circus search.
