He has actually successfully scouted players beyond the first round of the draft. Hurney never could do that.

As for the cap, Beason and Gamble will be cut, as will 1 of the RBs, the remaining RB, Anderson and Gross will be re-structured and Gettleman will use his personnel skills to find 2-3 starters in the later rounds of the draft and we’ll be just fine.

We know the Falcons will be good again next year and the Saints will have Sean Payton back. I hear many local sports broadcasters say that Rivera has to make the playoffs next season to keep his job. Panthers need to get lucky in the later rounds of the draft or it is goodbye Rivera.
