I ll make this short. Grantham is exactly what we need. The Birds would be lucky to get him. Lots of NFL experience. Genuine tough guy. Extremely knowledgeable.

I would love for Philly to draft him to, but we all know the coach with the #1 pick loves taking O-linemen in the 1st round. Jarvis Jones wouldn’t be a bad a bad pick at #4 tho

I was open to Chip maybe being able to work as a head coach for Eagles but I see its looking dim already with him targeting a college defense of coordinator which is insanity! Chip needs a defense guy like Lovie Smith or heavy hitter NFL guy so he can focus on offense! Look at Wade Phillips and what he did for the Texans defense!! Chip’s NFL career won’t last two years if he’s not smart enough to surround himself with experience and brilliance!

Good luck. With the amount of time the D is going to be on the field he’ll need it.

What no one is talking about is the impact Kelly’s offensive pace has on the D. If the O gets stymied the D is screwed and will wear down.

I just don’t see his style being sustainable for 16 games + playoffs. Players are older and less players on a roster could make it tough.

Todd Grantham coached in the NFL for 11 years, most recently as the Cowboys’ defensive line coach. He isn’t fresh fish out of college.

Grantham is a cancer, how soon we forget that he was fired in Cleveland for sandbagging and sticking Romeo Crennel in the back every chance he got, hoping he would be the replacement when RAC was fired. He’s not even a good DC. Grantham is a snake and Chip Kelly is a flake. Match made in heaven .. whole thing smells like a burning dumpster

Grantham was an NFL assistant for 10 years and coached the Cowboys d-line in 08. He’s a 3-4 guy, which I wouldn’t mind if they can get Jarvis Jones at #4

Grantham was a coach in the NFL for many years before heading to Georgia. He helped improve the defensive lines (when he was d-line coach) of the Texans and Cowboys when he was there. He struggled in Cleveland, but then he really helped Georgia emerge as a BCS contender.

He’s a real fiery guy and Philly fans will love him right away.

Todd Grantham has NFL experience:

Indianapolis Colts (1999-2001)
Grantham was hired by Jim Mora in 1998 to coach the Defensive Line.

Houston Texans (2002-2004)
After Jim Mora was relieved of his duties in Indianapolis, Grantham would move on to the newly formed Houston Texans.

C’mon……How can you be ripping the Kelly hire before he has even started…What winning 90% of your games the past three years, winning those games by an average of over 30pts per game ( remember, oregon playes defense as well) and doing it with an average 3 star recruit. He may succeed, maybe not. Time will tell. But what do you want……
1) A hugely successful college coach
2) A failed head coach from another pro team
3) A NFL co-ordinator who has absolutely no track record.
I will wait an see how it plays out
