Notre Dame did more than cover it up, they were complicit. Any halfway credible media hack would have exercised their due diligence to confirm the girlfriend’s death, and not simply take Te’o at his word. They knew that whole sob story would fuel the Heisman talk (which, let’s face it, is 2/3 of the reason he was even invited as a finalist OVER that kid from Georgia) and I’m sure it also played a role in the eyes of the voters who somehow looked past the Stanford debacle and that ridiculously esoteric “pass interference” called against Pitt on Tyler Eifert, when Pitt was up 20-6 midway through the 4th; a game that Notre Dame was on their way to losing and made this #1 ranking as fraudulent as Te’o is.

Also I understand the sympathy votes but if he did make this up he had to know that someone would figure it out. Especially once she was supposedly dead. I just don’t see how he could have not realized people would figure it out. That makes me think he got punked. Although there is people out there that are pathological liars.

If he did make this up that’s a huge red flag about his character and mental stability!!! Can u imagine the locker room once he is on a pro team. They will make fun of him his entire career!
