Comments on: Texans: Johnathan Joseph didn’t claim to be better than Patriots

There was an article in the Houston paper (Chron) the next day, citing the five plays. I think that’s where this “4-or-5 plays” thing came from. Here are the plays:
1) Ridley’s fumble deep in Texans territory, that slipped away from Houston corner Kareem Jackson.
2) Shaub’s 2nd quarter interception, after driving to the Patriot 21.
3) Houston safety Manning drawing a PI penalty on Patriots 3-and-10, on a ball that was uncatchable.
4) Texans blown coverage, which Brady read, on a 63-yd TD pass to Sallworth
5) Patriots at the Texans 27, Watt forces a fumble after a short completion, but it bounces to the Patriot’s Lloyd in the end zone for a TD.

You might argue that these examples are actually not exceptions, but instead are the proof that the Patriots are the better team. I’d agree.

Texans: leave the Pats out of your conversations and leave the letter jackets at home. Get a better QB and rewrite your playbook. Get a bigger NT, another good ILB and a better ST coordinator. Draft a FAST WR and use him by throwing passes to him, not taking two years asking him to learn how to block.
Or just be a wild card team. Your choice.

Why does anyone think the Texans are doing damage control? Damage from what? The season is over! On second read, this makes a lot more sense coming from a guy that doesn’t talk crazy.

It’s interesting that, in support on their position, the Texans posted a transcript of the statement. Assuming the posted statement above is what was actually said, it’s a non-issue.

Joseph was clearly saying he thought the Texans were A BETTER team than they proved to be. Fine. I got no problems with that. He did not say the Texans were a better team than the Patriots.

Ergo, thank you media for starting a needless frenzy on a slow news day. And the media wonders why the public distrusts them.

Hopefully he didn’t say that….Well he should focus on making sure he is healthy (hasn’t played 16 games in 100 years) and also make sure the Texans keep the Gatorade coming….Google John Joseph and Gatorade in Cincy….. LOL

Using Joseph’s logic Texas was lucky to win 13 games this year. If you turned around 4 or 5 plays in the 13 games the Texans wouldn’t they would be 0-16? So you could say Kansas City is better than Texas!

I never realized the Texans were so close to the 2008 Detriot Lions.
