10-6 after a 7-1 start.
Last year it was 8-8 after a 7-3 start.
They lost to Seattle at home in a game they needed and should have won.
They followed that up by coming out flat and lifeless against the Vikings
The following week they lost to the Packers at home with the division on the line.
Beating the Cardinals and Lions to finish 10-6 and OUT of the post season is not impressive.
They have missed the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years. They were 43-44 over that period with three 3rd place finishes.
If you are not making the playoffs than you are not competing for a title and your W-L record means nothing.

Not everyone has a soft spot in their heart for mediocrity.

Maybe Martz was not the problem. Bad personnel, bad karma, too much Rodgers. Tice, Lovie, and Martz (maybe but not likely) will get another gig.

I don’t see this as rebuilding so much as going in a new direction…Hopefully we can blow up the o-line and add a stud TE, the rest of the team is in good shape, even the aging D, which has 4 guys chosen for the Pro Bowl.

Can’t be too much of a surprise that Trestman sweep out the old guard so he can bring in his own team of coordinators and assistants.

Probably be more player turnover than normal too.

I guess things got stale in Chicago, but the winds of change are blowing again now.

Wow! Next seasons is going to look really strange on the sidelines. I sure hope Trestman knows what he is doing. The special teams coach from the Cowboys is definitely questionable as I thought he sucked with the Cowboys. Anyway, with all the changes, I wouldn’t doubt if Urlacher plays for a different team next year which will disappoint me. ButI sure would like to see him get a ring even if its on another team.

he had this bears fooled with all his talk before the season about what a Cutler friendly offense this was going to be and the hester package was going to be special then the actual games started and it was all one big mess. the only good thing he did was get rid of the martz 19 step drop but was just awful at game planning and calling plays. once again they ignored the te and even though he sucked you have to at least make it look like he is part of the game. and he carried on the tradition of never calling a play that worked again.

Cutler begged that the offense be allowed to grow for more than a single-season under a particular cordinator. To not listen to that request, when it is so rational, really confuses a lot of people.

Bears fan here guys.

I can tell you that Tice is good/bad.

He came as our o-line coordinator and to be honest, even as terrible as they were, he was decent.

But when he got promoted to offensive coordinator — that absolutely did NOT work. His offensive IQ is at 0. Literally.

Still wish him the best though.

Was supposed to be an oline guru,but in 3 years the oline never got better over a year over year basis….each year at the beginning the oline would really blow the by the end of the year they would rise to be mediocre…but they never would be build on the previous year as crazy as that sound but take a look at the stats and you will see.
