APWith Gus Bradley installed as the new head coach in Jacksonville, Brian Schottenheimer will be returning to his role as offensive coordinator for the Rams.
Schottenheimer interviewed with the Jaguars earlier this week, the latest of several interviews that Schottenheimer has gotten for a top job over the last few years. Missing out on the chance to run his own ship likely disappointed Schottenheimer, but he’s doing a pretty good job of hiding it.
“When I first found out, I was able to talk to both Jeff (Fisher) and Sam (Bradford). It’s an exciting time to be a Rams fan.” Schottenheimer said, via Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “The cool thing is I know I’m in a great spot with great people, with so many amazing things going on.”
Bradford posted his most successful year in 2012 and this will be the first chance he’s getting to work with the same offensive coordinator in consecutive seasons, a bit of continuity that could help the Rams offense take a step forward next season. Figuring out whether running back Steven Jackson and wide receiver Danny Amendola will be back is another part of the puzzle, but there’s likely a lot of good feelings in St. Louis about Jacksonville’s coaching decision.

As a Jags fan – I think I can speak for most if not all of us in saying – WE are upbeat that he did not get the job either.
Dude is HORRIBLE.
Thank god.
Schotty is not that bad of an OC even though he was crucified in NY. If you look at it now.. he runs conserative offenses because the talent levels havent been that great. It’s not a coincidence that Sanchez and Bradford’s best years have been with him calling the plays
Be happy and smile, Brian will be back for another episode of The Shottenheimer Kids in St. Loo.
He should be upbeat BECAUSE he didn’t get the Jags job.
you Rams fans are always complaining about the OC …. goodness you had Shurmur, now Brian… lol, lol Ok.. i get it ! lol
If all I had to do to get considered for jobs was have my dad’s last name, I’d be pretty upbeat too.
I would have hired him before I hired Mike Mccoy. He has a Great coaching recrod and the Schottenheimer blood lines. He will be a quality head coach soon.

That’s funny as hell
Maybe he did the interview just to get a feel for his future more serious HCing interviews. Thus he wouldn’t make his intentions public.
