Ask Nick Saban (one of the best college coaches around) how his pro career worked out, as well as Bobby Petrino, or the majority of the other college coaches who were fortunate to have an opportunity to coach in the NFL. The ones who are successful in that transition are few and far between.

That’s OK. As a Cowboys fan, it will be fun to continue to beat up on the Eagles in the NFC East, and welcome Coach Kelly to two of his many upcoming losses next year in the division.

What he said was just a manner of speaking; probably a tactic to avoid a flurry of questions about “how will your NCAA success translate into the NFL and” and blah blah blah. By saying this, he can avoid having to answer some derivitive of the same question 15 times in a row. For all intents in purposes, I think he used it as a defense mechanism to do so, albeit not the best one.

I’ve been vocal in saying I’m not sold on this guy in the NFL, but I’ve never said I think he’s an idiot, is a bad coach, or doesnt know football, and you never will see me say that. I think this quote here is getting blown out of proportion, not that big of a deal.

Every year, college football teams add players through recruiting high school seniors. The top programs often add 6 or 7 five or four star players to their roster.

In the NFL, through the draft, you’re lucky if you get one really good player, a few decent/developmental players, and a few guys who can tackle someone on special teams.

Speaking of clueless, learn to reading comprehend. The NFL’s version of recruiting is the draft, where you have 7 picks, in order, based off finishing position the previous year.

In college, recruiting allows the best schools (like Oregon) the chance to have 5-10 elite players a year (or for comparisions sake, first round picks) to replenish a roster that playing in the BCS every year.

Imagine the Patriots win the Super Bowl and then turn around and get picks 1,2,5,6,9,10 in the first round of the next draft. Thats what he had at Oregon. He doesn’t get that advantage in Philly

Anyone who reads the transcript could tell he views Foles much more favorably then Vick – was extremely specific talking about Foles and his attributes, but was very vague about Vick – seemingly detached.

Additionally, anyone who reads the transcript could tell he is not going to bring the Oregon offense into the NFL – this team is going to run like a more run-centric version of the New England offense.

A and B – Chip never had a Top 10 recruiting class. Not once. Yet he was always ranked in the Top 10. But of course you’re not interested in facts, just spewing nonsense to back up your non-argument.

C – Every sport has tougher and weaker stretches of their schedule. This is nothing new. What you said is technically true, but also implies ignorance.

D – In college, one single regular season game means far more than your typical NFL game. Not that anyone was expecting your points to make sense.
