For instance, the fact that he didn’t attend his girlfriend’s funeral, visit her after her diagnosis or visit her after her involvement in a road crash. I hope Te’o is being 100% honest about being the victim here. It may reflect poorly on his naivity, but the alternative of him lying could cast a shadow over anything he does in the future, as well as damage the reputation of ND in the eyes of many.
