Titans hire a special teams coach

124641318

The Titans have started the process of replacing the assistant coaches fired since the end of the regular season.

Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports that the team has hired Nate Kaczor as their new special teams coordinator. Kaczor was on head coach Mike Munchak’s staff last year as an assistant offensive line coach. Alan Lowry, the man behind the Music City Miracle, was fired after 17 years running Tennessee’s special teams.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean is hearing the same on Kaczor and reports that the team has also promoted from within to fill the linebackers coach spot vacated by Frank Bush. Chet Parlavecchio (pictured) will move into the job after working as a special teams assistant under Lowry. Wyatt reports that players in the Titans credit Parlavecchio with ideas that led to positive plays on special teams, which obviously made the Titans wonder if he could do the same for the linebackers.

The Titans are still looking for a running backs coach after their efforts to lure Sherman Smith away from Seattle were unsuccessful.
