Seahawks Kam Chancellor, Chris Clemons undergo surgery

Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor and defensive end Chris Clemons each underwent surgeries on Thursday.

Chancellor’s surgery was for an undisclosed injury in his lower right leg. Seahawks team doctor Edward Khalfayan performed the surgery.

Chancellor tweeted that he was back home following the surgery on Thursday and posted a picture of his right foot in a walking boot.

Clemons had surgery to repair the torn ACL and meniscus in his left knee suffered in the Seahawks Wild Card round win over the Washington Redskins two weeks ago. Clemons’ surgery was performed by Dr. James Andrews.

The Seahawks confirmed Chancellor’s surgery via their own twitter account Thursday afternoon. The surgery is not considered to be serious. Head coach Pete Carroll said during his season-ending press conference that only the injury to Clemons presented the only serious rehab they expected this off-season.

Carroll said other players would require some smaller procedures but nothing that would significantly impact their off-season availability.

“I mentioned to the team how fortunate we were to get out of the year with really one major rehab in Chris Clemons,” Carroll said. “We’ll have some guys, who need some things cleaned up but that will be much minor and insignificant than what Clem has to go through.”

Would be nice to get a prognosis. Clemons is 31. What are the chances he fully recovers, and when is a reasonable expectation for his return?

Don’t really have a good feeling about this.

Hope everyone gets better good and quick. Dr. Andrews is great and I’m hoping for AP-esque results.

Hmm…didn’t put this together before, but Clemons, RG3, and Petersen all got hurt on the pavement that is Fed Ex field in December, and all had their knee done by Andrews…and its the same field where Andrews is one of the home team’s sideline doctor.

Should catch some security video of Andrews driving his Range Rover all over the field the night before, helping turn the field into the junk it was, and giving the good doctor some extra offseason patients.

Just kidding…hope Clemons recovers, Seattle needs him, and he needs some help, up front, to get after that QB next year.

The league is worried about Earl bumping into QB’s but does nothing about this field in Washington. This makes me mad as all hell !!!
