David Lee continues his AFC East tour

Eventually, quarterbacks coach David Lee will work for the Patriots.  He has to.

For now, he’s embarking on his third tour with an AFC East team.  According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Lee has become the quarterbacks coach of the Jets.

Lee spent 2012 with the Bills after spending three seasons with the Dolphins.

Known as a Wildcat guru, Lee’s presence suggests that the Jets will still use the alternate package from time to time in 2013.  Even though the presence of Tim Tebow on the roster in 2012 was a debacle, forcing the defense to prepare for the possibility of a someone other than quarterback Mark Sanchez taking the snaps dilutes the total prep time, which in a roundabout way could make Sanchez perform better.

It would be hard to make him perform much worse.

  1. Wildcat guru?!???

Can someone explain to me just why people seem to think that the wildcat is some sort of killer system that’s guaranteed to get a team to the Superbowl and is just very difficult to pull off?

One game 5 years ago against the Pats and then basically been talked about a ton, run some and successful/game changer about zero…

People think the wildcat is some killer system that’s guaranteed to get a team to the Super Bowl? There are some people that post here with more than a few loose screws in the head, but I have never seen that thought. Ever. Except from you. Guess you’ve answered your own question.

So teams hire “wildcat gurus” and trade for players like Tebow to NOT get to the Superbowl?

    Interesting.

  4. David Lee was also the QBs coach during Chad Pennington’s near MVP season, but sure…. they’re bringing him in for the wildcat…
