The Falcons ownership awards QBs they like with monster contracts even if they slightly or greatly over pays.

Vick’s last contract with the Falcons was a 10 year $130 million contract signed in 2004 easily one of the top 5 contracts in pro football at the time even though he wasn’t a top 5 QB.

Matt Ryan’s rookie contract was sign in 2008 and went for 6yrs $72 million which placed in amongst the top 10 paid QB before ever playing a down in the league.

I predict a monster deal that will have him right around the $130 million Vick got over less years..probably 8.

I’m a Saints fan so I can’t believe I’m saying this. I hope the falcons win today. Home field is the best way for a dome team to reach the superbowl and win it. So, if they don’t get it done today. It may never happen after this year. So, for one game I’ll be rooting for the Falcons and Tony G to get to the bowl. But, after it’s over it’s back to hating them dirty birds

Why would whomever, leak this out now, and why would they engage in such matters now, right before the NFC Championship game?

This stuff is for the offseason. Not when your team is in the playoffs, and certainly not before the Championship game.

They have to do this, who better is out there that they can realistically get?

Matt Ryan will be a top 3 to 7 QB for most of his career so the Falcons might as well take care of it and move on to shoring up other parts of the team and getting a new RB.

I mean hey – he could win today. But just sayin’. Wait until he does something of note.

I guess they forgot about the 10 Year, $135 Million Contract they gave to Vick who also didn’t win any particularly big games. Though he did win double the number of playoff games in ATL than Matty Ice has.

7 years 120 million
