Another Dolphin heads to the Pro Bowl

Randy Starks AP

Between the injured players from the conference finalists who lost and the Pro Bowlers from the teams that won, replacements will be needed for the Pro Bowl.

The latest is Dolphins defensive lineman Randy Starks, who is replacing Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork.

Starks is due to become a free agent in March, and the nine-year veteran has appeared in every Dolphins game for all of his five seasons in South Florida.

It’s Starks’ second trip to the Pro Bowl.  His first came two seasons ago.

Now, he’ll get to spend a week in Hawaii with players who may try to recruit him to their teams for 2013.

The probowl is a joke. As long as you are in the top 1/2 at your position you can make the probowl. That’s not special to me

Randy started the season well then faded, possibly due to personal loses.

Frankly, the one players on the team deserving of PB consideration were Center Pouncey, Defensive End Wake, and Safety Jones.

Starks and Richie being in is kind of laughable.

him and Incognito can reacquaint themselves during practices again. He’s actually had better years than his 2012 season. But happy for him nonetheless.

Wow, at this rate we might end up with Matt Cassel vs John Skelton

Wake made it, and the other 2 are deserving, but I see nothing laughable about it.

Randy Starks is a big part of the D line and is a beast! He deserves to be in the Pro Bowl and hopefully the Dolphins re-sign him! That’s 4 pro bowlers from Miami now.. Not bad for a 7-9 team!

The dolphins need stars and haven’t had one in many many years. Taylor, ricky, Zach perhaps but after that it’s Marino. We need some true play makers that other teams fear. Unfortunately we’ve had dozens of chances to land at least a few over the years and either drafted a bust instead or signed the wrong guy. This year we should go hard for Wallace who has the most star potential and not mess up this draft like we have time and time again.
