Comments on: D.J. Fluker is huge, Denard Robinson is small at the Senior Bowl

Think of Denard Robinson as being in the Josh Cribbs/Antwan Randel El mold. Both of them made the switch from QB to WR after college. Denard has potential to be a quality return man and slot receiver in the NFL.

How he performs in the Senior Bowl and at the combine will determine where he’ll be drafted. Figure, middle rounds at best.

No way Jordan is there in the 4th… Dude’s a freak and could go top 10/15 by the time the combine is done… The TEs wont last that long either.

Wow, people just looking for something to criticize…

My point was, does 1/2″ or 10 pounds really make a difference?? After watching 1st round picks with off-the-chart physical attributes fall off the wayside, scouts need to pay more attention to what these kids can do on the field, not just how tall they are or how fast they can run…

Why does Denard Robinson have a spot on the Senor Bowl roster as a receiver? He played quarterback up until the end of his senior season. Why isn’t a player who actually put in the work for his whole career as a receiver given this opportunity instead?

His wingspan was measured at 87 inches. That is absolutely incredible. By comparison, JPP has a wingspan of 81 inches. That’s how long this dude’s arms are. 6’5″ with a 7’3″ wingspan.

There are 64 quarterbacks that are either #1 or #2 on an NFL teams depth chart.

One of those Qbs, ONE, is as small as Russell Wilson. And that’s Russell Wilson.

Was the 1 inch difference due to the fact that the measurement was taken barefoot when we play the games with shoes on?
Scouts should care less about the measurables and concentrate more on the skillset of the player.

I see Robinson getting hit so hard, they find his teeth in another state. He is just too fragile to play in the NFL. Fast yes, a pass catcher no. Running back no, QB, absolutely not. His arm is spaghetti noodle arm.

I`d never draft a running QB in the first round. Almost all spend alot of time on the bench with injuries

Yes, physical attributes do matter. I’ve got a lot of heart, but at 5′ 8″ 205 pounds and pudge around the midsection, I’m not making any NFL roster.

Also, with all due respect to Wilson, he’s played one season.

Denard wasn’t that good of a QB in college. He’s a much better fit as a “OW” (Offensive Weopon). He plays with heart & skill, plus he’s hella fast & shifty running the ball.

The real question is this. Why was a WR roster spot given to Denard Robinson? He played QB most of the seaon, then moved to halfback. I guess I dont see the value in denying a player who played the position, and favoring a player because he made some highlight reels in a mediocre college career.
