Incognito makes it to his first career Pro Bowl

Incognito

When the AFC and NFC representatives arrive in Hawaii, one of the guys they regard as one of the dirtiest players in the game will come rolling in to the pristine pool party, hopefully with his clothes in a green garbage bag, a stream of profanity, and a cloud of grimy dust.

Richie Incognito is going to the Pro Bowl, for the first time in his eight-year career.

Despite his reputation, he wouldn’t have been in position to replace Ravens guard Marshal Yanda if the players and coaches didn’t regard Richie as worthy. Indeed, a cloud of suspicion regarding the then-pending suspension of Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman prompted enough players and coaches to keep him out of the game.

Incognito, despite persistent complaints made against him of dirty play, secured the votes. Here’s hoping he brings some of his fire and intensity to the land of volcanoes; if it’s contagious, it could help save the Pro Bowl.
