Tight end Owen Daniels was added to the AFC Pro Bowl roster Monday, making him the ninth Texan and the second AFC replacement tight end in the all-star game.
Gronkowski was placed on injured reserve last week with a broken left arm.
Daniels, who had 62 catches for 716 yards and six touchdowns this year, joins a long list of Texans teammates.
They’ll have nine in the Pro Bowl, the most of any team in the AFC as well as a franchise high.
Also there will be left tackle Duane Brown, running back Arian Foster, wide receiver Andre Johnson, cornerback Johnathan Joseph, center Chris Myers, quarterback Matt Schaub, left guard Wade Smith and defensive end J.J. Watt.
With that many talented players, you’d think the Texans would be closer to not being eligible for Pro Bowl duty, but they’re not.
