Ugh…I think I’m waaay more inclined to believe Jerry Rice than believe Romanowski, who was playing on the other side of the ball.

This is coming from a guy who watches all of Raiders Postgame Live and sees Romanoski a lot on Chronicle Live hear in the bay area…and Romanowski isn’t exactly the most intelligent person. Especially when it comes to what’s going on on offense.

He’s the guy who actually thinks the Raiders would be better off trading for Tim tebow. TIM TEBOW. When they have Carson Palmer and Terrelle Pryor.

Although it’s obvious something when awry for the Raiders in that game, I find Brown’s theories a little bizarre, too. Then again … if Romanowski is calling him out, there’s probably something to it. You can’t believe anything Romanowski says.

Mr. Davis was always concerned with another team spying and getting the Raider game plan. It is entirely possible that Mr. Davis changed things at the last minute . The fact that they were playing their former head coach may have had something to do with it. The deliberate sabotage angle seems outlandish.

If you watch the Buccaneers Superbowl DVD you can hear John Lynch running off the field early in the game and he says “This feels exactly like what we ran in practice all week” Question is, if they were practicing for a week against something that the Raiders offense didn’t even know they were going to run until 2 days before the game, how did Gruden know? Maybe he was just talking about the plays, and the way Gannon made decisions on the field because as safety, Lynch did a lot of reading before he reacted.

Charlie Garner was on the radio earlier and confirmed Callahan changed the game plan 48hours before the game and also confirmed his contempt for the Raiders. Garner said they found game balls given to him in the trash can. That says a lot to me. I played thru college and a game ball was a big deal to players and coaches alike. Not something you would chuck unless you had a reason

Losing B Robb was devestating. I remember we beat the Bucs in 2000 or 2001 by about 40 points and B Robb was tossing Sapp around like a little rag doll.

Actually that Superbowl was the only time the Bucs beat the Raiders in the history of the NFL.

Romanowski is one of the NFL’s lowest lowlifes in the history of the game so I wouldn’t exactly take his word on it.

In fact, speaking out against it actually makes me think it true and I have no dog in this fight.

Plus he was a defensive player so I doubt he had much insight into what was going on in the offensive meetings that week.

Is it possible– I know it seems remote and an excuse, and I’m not offering it as one– but is it not possible that Brown has suffered enough head trauma that he’s lashing out in a disturbed and irrational way? Nothing else makes sense. The claim that Callahan would tank the superbowl is beyond absurd. He’s been quiet for a while but not getting into the Hall (esp when commentators during his career irresponsibly called him a ‘sure, first ballot Hall of Famer’ Tim Brown) might have set him off. In any case, even a Bronco fan, it’s sad to see so great a player be so petty, inane and dumb. Has to be something else. Dementia. Deperession. Something.
