Great way to treat your QB – a guy that went through two seasons where his oline let him get sacked close to 60 times – never said anything about them – his defense allows 40 points in playoff games – doesn’t throw ‘em under the bus – and you want this guy who carries our team to shut up? …. the ones that should shut up are the Packer fans taking Rodgers forgranted …

Well it’s not like Jennings is going through what Javon Walker went through when he asked to be paid like a pro bowler – only for his QB to throw him under the bus – before throwing a jump and blow out your knee pass across the middle pass.

Woodson is good, not $10 mil good.
Jennings is good, not top WR money good.
Hawk is good, not big money good.
O-line was bad but injured.
D-line was ineffective.
Running game was anemic. Is Benson the answer?
Matthews looked soft at the end of the season.
Tramon Williams can’t cover anybody.
Coaching was subpar.
Crosby……

All these faults yet the Pack still won the division easily. I honestly don’t know where the “priorities” lie but I think no matter what, this team needs to add size and aggression at pretty much any position. When push comes to shove, this team as it stands now gets shoved. I hope for a strong rebound this year and another playoff run. Woodson coming back is not the only answer.

—————————————————————————————————————————————————— jennings has made it clear he wants a huge contract, and he will get paid no doubt. but he’s not worth fitzgerald money or megatron money imo. he’s been hurt the last 2 years and probably only has a couple more good years left. i like jennings and wish him the best but don’t want the pack to invest huge into him.

Aaron Rodgers is not acting like Brett Favre because Favre said things without provocation. The difference here is people are asking for Rodgers’ opinion!

Players get criticized for giving cookie cutter responses. Rodgers is answering a question honestly. Yet people are acting like he makes these statements without being asked.

The notion that he’s being arrogant or bigger than the team is ridiculous. Because he’d be criticized for giving a cookie cutter response. He’s criticized for giving honest answers. He might as well not answer at all. No wait, he’d be criticized for that all.

That secondary has been constantly torched since that tragic injury to Nick Collins. Having Woodson at Safety was a desperate mov it shouldnt cost 10 million.
I see them drafting a Safety in round 1 or 2.

For all of you saying Rodgers should stop playing GM and keep his mouth shut, he was SPECIFICALLY asked about Woodson on his radio show (he was also asked about Jennings). As the Packers are no longer playing all the talk has moved to next season. By the way he has 2 more weeks for his radio show.

This is the problem with the media these days. Rodgers is being constantly interviewed and when he weighs in on a subject, even in the most minor of ways, the media blares it out like he is trying to dictate personnel moves for the Packers, even though its the furthest thing from the truth.

If Woodson takes a pay cut, then maybe he will be back. But Thompson is a firm believer that its better to cut a player a year too early than a year too late. And it Woodson’s case, it might already been a year too late.

They need to keep him. He is the only half decent player on that D.
Or cut the entire defensive squad. Coaches included. Or… They could wait another two years when defense will be completely phased out of the game.

Wood brought a lot to the team in his time with the Packers, but $10 mil next year is overpaying. We’ve got better options with the up and coming younger players. Woodson should retire, Rodgers should let Ted Thompson decide who is on the team and stop playing GM in the media. The team can use that money to get better on defense. Finding players who can tackle would be a nice start.

Team is slowly turning into the Colts post 2006. No defense, can’t stop the run, money wrapped up in offense.

Aaron’s right. Keep Woodson, play him at safety. But the team needs pass rushers on the defensive line. Mathews is great but, not much else to fear here.

If you mean by playing GM, Rodgers has been at it for a couple years now with his public comments on the Packer’s roster. As a matter of fact, he is worse then Favre ever was.

Packers are in a tough spot here. Woodson is a true leader for them but does cause some problems for Green Bay.

The salary is clearly too much for his current ability. Morgan Burnett likely to play the exact same role as Woodson does. Near the line of scrimmage and is much faster at this time. Burnett is the choice over Woodson while the other safety (Jennings or McMillian) will be the deep guy. Woodson is too slow to play corner so its not really an option (Packers play Williams, Shields, Hayward and House). The Packers need to get either faster or bigger, or both as they struggle with power running teams, keeping Woodson doesn’t solve either really and pushes Burnett to deep safety which hurts in coverage.

I expect you’ll see Hawk, Woodson, and Pickett gone or with major salary reductions from the Packers D.

He may still be valuable to the Packers but certainly not at 10 mil. Cut him and let him shop…he is more valuable to the Pack than anyone else just not at 10 mil.

Woodson’s salary is 8 to 10% of the overall cap. I don’t think he’ll be back without a renegotiation, if at all. The Packers are too deep in talent to do that.
