Like many people, I have done things in my life that I’m not particularly proud of, and like most people, I’ve tried to learn from those mistakes, and to do better. This seems to be the argument everyone makes with regards to ray Lewis. However the one thing that puzzles me is that he doesn’t discuss the incident. I know that with my mistakes, I bring them up so that I can let others know not to make the same mistakes. In fact you see this all of the time with people who want to help others avoid their mistakes. Alcoholics speak about their problems with alcohol, like wise with drug a users, and drunk drivers. They are always talking about their mistakes, hoping to help others. Even prisoners, have the scared straight program, and they speak to troubled youth trying to help them avoid a life of crime and prison. Yet for some reason, the biggest mistake in rays life, he never ever talks about it. Wouldn’t he want to help steer troubled youth from his mistakes, and tell them how his trying to cover up a murder, his not assisting the police with helping them solve the case, has caused him so much grief. Wouldn’t he want to use that life lesson as his number one motivational tool when helping troubled youth. I mean after all if all he did was obstruct justice, then why not use it as a lesson for others? I have no doubt the man has done many things in his life since that moment to try and do the right thing. But until he removes the curtain from that event and let’s the light shine on it, he will always have his doubters. Especially when he enjoys the limelight so much as he does, with look at me moments on camera. (Forced Tears during national anthem, falling at his knees mid field waiting for the hoarse of photogrophers, his squirrel dance, etc)

He wasnt just let off the hook. Ray was SB MVP and because of that whole situation, Disney asked Trent Dilfer to deliver the “I’m going to Disney World” line. I wonder what would happen this year if he’s MVP

i love how people feel like they get to comment on things they know nothing about based on the teams they cheer for. ravens fans dont like the steelers so ben is a rapist. steeler fans dont like the ravens so ray is a murderer. here are the facts….ray was never ever put on trial for murder…yes he was there and yes he did make mistakes that night. but the atlanta d.a. was so sure ray did it that they let him go because he plays football? be real. he wasnt a superstar then. he did plead to obstruction of justice because thats what he was guilty of. and since atlanta has ray lewis ever been in trouble. the answer is no. i am a ravens fan living in baltimore…ray lewis has done more to help this city than you could imagine. if you arent a fan thats fine..certainly you are entitled to your opinion. but 13 years later to bring this up when the facts say otherwise is wrong. just like no one truly knows what ben did or didnt do…no charges were ever filed. i am sure ben has done many good things for the city of pittsburgh. point is cant we just argue over which team is better and who sucks than constantly bring up things we truly know nothing about. go ravens!!

Ray Lewis has put up with the ignorance and narrow minds of those who would drag this garbage up again. It is a sad example of what people can descend to. Back in 2000 Ray had to tolerate this kind of ignorance because it happened the prior year and he ascended to the Super Bowl XXXV MVP. He was under the scrutiny of public opinion 13 years ago and will have to put up with the same small minds and low IQs of those who would spew such nonsense.

Unfortunately anyone can write anything in a forum such as this one and the less someone has to say the more they say it. The only reason I am posting anything is for the record I am a Ray Lewis fan and I do not believe anything as stupid and moronic as what has been written.

Ray is the best middle linebacker who ever played in the NFL and is an example for many other younger players. Many linebackers wear the number 52 to honor their hero…Ray Lewis. This includes the starting linebacker on the opposing team in this coming Super Bowl, Patrick Willis.

Ray is a friend to many athletes and non-athletes and helps as many people as he can find time for. He was in the wrong place, at the wrong time and associated with the wrong people at that time in his life. He made the same mistake many athletes make when they hit the pro sports lottery. He has since learned from that experience and flirted with a life changing event.

He murdered noone and has not withheld any information from anyone. He was wrong for hanging out with people who only wanted to taste the life of a pro athlete. He was naive about what could happen and what he could lose.

He wishes that the people who committed the murder were brought to justice but he is not the person who did the crime nor is he the person who knows who did the deed. He would not be so easily discharged from the criminal process if he were associated with anything to do with the murders.

The DA in Atlanta almost hit his own lottery in charging a pro athlete with murder. He would have benefitted immensly from prosecuting Ray and would not let him go if he had anything to follow up on.

It just isn’t there nor will there ever be anything to accuse Ray of. The only thing he can be accused of is being the greatest middle line backer ever to play in the NFL. And of being one of the best models for other NFL players.

What does watching an athlete play a sport have to do with knowing that he wouldn’t do anything wrong off of the field? We don’t know the people we cheer for on a personal level. Just because somebody is really good at sports doesn’t make them a good person.

Ray was not a suspect for murder. He was not a suspect as an accessory. He was a suspect and admitted to trying to cover up the murder. Anybody with an open mind, or anybody that has watched him over his career in Maryland, knows he could never be a murderer.

One of the problems with being a Christian is that there are LOTs of people who would love to bring you down. They will lie, obsess, and obfuscate to bring you down. Consider Tebow..the guy is villified and he is Snow White.

The issue is not Ray or Tebow. The issue is hatred created from the Separation from G__.

Lewis didn’t get a pass. The media scrutinized the case until an Atlanta jury found the men that confessed to the stabbings to have acted in self defense since evidence was found that the men they stabbed were in possession of handguns.

He was a black man, hanging out with other black men in the south at 4 AM coming out of the club. Pardon even Ray for panicking and saying some things that weren’t well thought-out at the time. Yes he trashed his suit which had blood on it. He panicked. He was found guilty, and paid the price. But he didn’t kill those men. So say the witnesses, the accused, the prosecution, the defense, and so found the jury.

Unfortunately armchair “fans” who don’t like the Ravens or aren’t fond of the squirrel dance don’t have much say when it comes to the legal process.

stop referring to the two dead people as kids. they were grown men, who had trouble with the law. They would be in their late 30s. Also don’t forget. Jacinth Baker was hiding in Atlanta from charges in Akron.

I think it’s time to let go of what Ray Lewis used to be. Sure he was a murder suspect, and yes he protected his friends at the time, but have some faith in the legal process. He was tried and punished and it’s over. We have to believe in the ability for people to be rehabilitated and to become better, contributing members of society. Ray did many wrongs, and he was wronged many times too as a young man, but he is a changed person. He broke away from what he was. He may have kids from different women, but he loves those kids, and spends time with them and treats them well. He really wants to help others as his primary function in life. I think he’s genuine.

Even OJ didn’t get the pass that Ray Lewis got. It’s incredible that Lewis got to simply pay off the families of the murdered men and then tell everyone to shut up about it…AND THEY DID!!! It’s a disgrace that the media is going to make this felon out to be God when he is nothing more than a jerk.

The murder references are a welcome sight; for over a decade, there has been no curiosity at all despite his continued status as a Nina dude murder suspect.

Facts: Ray fled the scene; the white suit he wore that night has disappeared; while fleeing the scene, he told the people in his limo to ‘keep their mouths shut’; there was blood in his limo; he copped a plea to testify against others who were on the scene, but they were acquitted; he settled with the victim’s families for an undisclosed amount; he becomes defensive when asked about it now.

Anyone in these circumstances who was not a football star would be under considerable scrutiny. The fact that he hasn’t been under any, and has continued to be an icon for rage and violence, should sicken any right-thinking person.
I’m not saying he’s guilty, I’m saying he should never have received the pass he has. I hope the truth comes out.

Ray lewis has lucked out big time. Never a story on when the families took him to court he paid both families millions. He sniched and then back slide through it all and then he found God. So this makes all well. We should ask the families of the kids killed how motivated they are.
